at first I thought of using mermaid but it's too common so I just did this and it's my first animal manip yay!

They're both nice images, but I don't think they work together. With the horses back, and the slope of the tail, it almost looks like the animal's spine is broken.

To add to the fishy feel of it, I would put more fins along his upper torso. Maybe a big dorsal fin on his back. I'd probably make his tail a little wider and thicker too.

my critique?
well, make the fish colors a bit darker to match the horse.
i think it would've been better without shells at the top and rather the surface of the water.
the shells make it a painting frame and it takes away a lot of the realistic look.
also the horses' body should be a bit narrower, it's too obvious the tail is shoped on.
make it longer and thinner to give it a real tail like look (think a seal or smth)
otherwise, nice job!
