Another painting for the 28 Monsters challenge -- this one is for prompt #5, which calls for "a monster inspired by deep-sea organisms".So that's what this is -- a giant anglerfish with legs, who is equally at home on land and in the water. He only comes out of the water at night, though; he likes the dark.

Ha, love it. Anglers are such bizarre creatures. Apparently, the big ones are the females and the males are tiny, puny things. Recently watched something on them that made me look them up a bit more. Great colors, gives a lot of character to this funny monster

Yeah, I knew that about the females being the big ones and the males being tiny and attaching themselves to the females.
Interesting fish! I mostly just like their teeth, they're so long and pointy.
I'm glad the colors worked; I was pretty confident in how the orange and black on the monster itself turned out, but less so about the red and blue of the sand and the water.

I like to see monsters in watercolors, they are so often used to show idilic landscapes that I love the dynamisme of a monster
