this is for a contest over at :wingit-stock: [link]this one bout killed me. i'd say about 5 days for this one maybe a bit more. I built the fairy then the room in the pic and then the background for the pic itself to lay on. *falls over*

My manips take longer to do than other artists it seems. I literally start with a base of a person, or in the case of my Gambit manip just a face, and then I build everything from there.
I don't like using pre-made backgrounds because to me it feels like I'm cheating and I'm not actually making the art but using art done by someone else. I try to build and make pieces as much as time allows but yeah....thank god for single stock items.
And I'm UBER picky about it all fitting seemlessly together with no rough edges, it's probably a very good thing I'm not OCD I'd never even finish one!

I know what you mean, I used to spend up to 17 hours on some of my manipulations. But these days I just don't have the time anymore. Sadly. My skills have become quite rusty.

Oh I would not call it just a "study" - it is really beautiful. I especially like how you have utilized the magnifying glass to make the focus point not just "larger" but sharper too. Great job!
