Description The beautiful blonde Bee sat nervously in a high-end Manhattan restaurant with a blacked out sign, with the aim of meeting up with a friend from her high school. A tight red sleeveless dress accented her fit frame and she took a sip from he glass of water in-front of her, watching her engagement ring sparkle in the warm lighting. The two friends began to rekindle their friendship when his sister had reached out to Kayla through the Bee's private social media, not her the famed super identity, or the sexy celebrity.

A scrawny, bald man in his mid-20's wearing a pair of dark eye glasses with a blue polo shirt and black dress pants with a nice pair of brown shoes strolled into the restaurant, as a friendly waiter greeted him at the door and led him to his table with Kayla. His dark eyes widened, with his heartbeat quickening slightly, and Kayla stood up from her seat.

"Hi Derrick!" Kayla smiled, hands folded gently against her belly.

"Hi Kayla...you look amazing." Derrick replied softly, gazing upon the blonde's athletic frame.

"So do you, silly! Can I have a hug before you sit?" She asked, holding out her arms.

He nodded, and felt his soul become whole once more. He was informed earlier that he was cancer-free for the first time in two years, and this was a time for celebration. Derrick smiled softly, and Kayla gripped his frame tightly, kissing his forehead softly before the two of them sat down. The old friend giggled softly, watching Kayla fix her long hair out of her friendly eyes.

"Can I just say something?"

"Anything." Kayla smiled.

"Thank you for that."

"You're welcome, anytime." The blonde heroine replied and handed him a menu.

"My treat, don't worry about anything. So, how are you?" The blonde smiled, putting the menu down and taking a sip of her glass of red wine.

"Better now that I get to dine with an awesome friend." He smiled, as the two of them clinked their glasses together, and took a small swig.

"Catherine reached out to me about how you needed help. How's your chemo going?"

"The bills suck, but it's manageable."

"Don't worry about a thing. It's all taken care of." Kayla assured.

"Okay..."

"You know, my head-chef is looking for a sous-chef in my restaurant, the Bee Hive."

"Only the Michelin Star winner, Alex Evans huh?

"That's the one. You went to culinary school, right?"

"Yeah, but Kayla, I'm nowhere near that level."

"We can teach you. We're expanding the whole thing, and Catherine did say that you needed a job..."

"I don't want to burden the team."

"You were never a burden in the first place. What do you say?"

"Expanding the place, huh?"

"Yeah! From a little diner to a full-fledged thing, with a liquor license and everything."

"Well...okay."

"Good. Alex needs a little more muscle in the kitchen anyways." Kayla laughed, as Derrick grinned.

The friendly waiter came back with a few appetizers, courtesy of the kitchen and filled their water glasses to the top once more, as the blonde nodded, smiling.

"How's it being New York's most popular celebrity?" Derrick asked, causing Kayla to giggle a bit.

"Well, from being fed amazing food and lounging around in a bathing suit all day, I think I'll survive..." The two of them laughed.

"I wouldn't mind seeing that." Derrick laughed nervously, as Kayla smirked, taking out her cell phone, and let him see the previews of the latest photos to enter the month's sports magazine.

His brown eyes went wide, and handed back her phone, causing Kayla to smile genuinely.

"Lucky guy that Alex is."

"I'm very lucky too."

"Oh, I saw a Ferrari parked out front, sweet, sweet car."

"It's mine." Kayla replied, with a grin.

"Oh? Wow."

"Like I said, I'm very fortunate, and I like to spread out my fortune where it's needed, which is why I said your hospitial bills are taken care of...along with all of the other cancer patients there." Kayla smiled, watching him create a look of disbelief.

"All of it!? All my friends there are debt-free too?" He replied, excitedly, with the blonde nodding.

"Wait a minute, there's Greg over that, and Jennifer...huh..."

"Welcome to the new Bee Hive! We wanted to have a private dinner with all of the patients graduating from their chemo treatments over the last little while."

"You are my literal superhero. This is just amazing. Thank you Kayla." He smiled, as she pressed her lips to his cheek, and Alex appeared from the kitchen in a white chef's jacket.

"Hi Derrick! Kayla's told me a lot about you."

"Hey Alex. Yeah, she just told me that you needed a bit more muscle in the kitchen."

Alex laughed and flexed his arms, causing the sleeves to bulge easily, and Derrick's jaw dropped.

"I promise you'll be in good hands." He exclaimed, as Kayla winked at her guys.

"I'll eat quick, and then we can start training."

"See Alex, he's Superman too." Kayla smiled, and Derrick blushed, as the two guys wandered back to the kitchen. Kayla grinned again, and sent Catherine a message stating the night was a major success.
