Description
theres a little story behind this and this may answer questions as to why Zero is attacking merrick and leila and why the sword that stabbed merrick isnt in his body or in his hand or in zero's hands
Merrick was asked by leila to go with her because she wanted to go shopping and she cant be trusted with money which is what merrick says and so he goes with her and after they get the cafe that miaka runs but on the way there a maverick zero clone attacks them(hence why zero is attacking) initially going for leila but merrick pushes her out the way and takes the sword into his stomach, zero then jumps using merrick as a boost to gain distance from merrick to shoot leila with his buster but merrick tells leila to run then he starts to pull the sword from out of his stomach with his own two hands while obviously causing pain to himself but does not scream but rather is growling from anger then he throws the sword into the bush near where he was attacked and draws out a version of the wing gundam zero's twin buster rifle and points it at zero and in pure rage fires it right towards him

oh and yes zero has grabbed merricks head and is staring at leila

panel 1:
leila: !!!MERRICK!!!!!
Merrick: g-ggah!!
Zero clone: damn it! i missed, you stupid boy!

panel 2:
Merrick: *in pain* LEILA RUN! NOW!! GET OUT OF HERE!!
Leila: b-but!
Merrick: GO!!
Zero: damn girl! YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE WITH YOUR LIFE!!

skip till after merrick pulls out the sword from his wound

panel 3:
Merrick: .........target.....lock on....
Zero: target acquired!
Leila: *running away while crying*
