My first real MLP OC, not counting the lazy unicorn I did long ago. This is Gloria, a griffon with a bit of phoenix in her. While the bottom is the normal lion half the top half is based on the sparrow with a little altertions, namely the feather in the back of her head.
Backstory- As child Gloria got into an accident helping a young phoenix out with nearly killed her but the phoenix's parents shared some her revival powers with her, saving her and altering her appearance greatly. Other griffons in her village seemed to either dislike her changed appearance, were jealous of her, or wanted to sell her as sideshow attraction; So she fled for her home to a far off forest spending the years living the animals in peace, while avoiding any passerbys. But one day a large forest fire sweep through and while trying to flee she saw several ponies on vacation there were trapped in the flames, she couldn't ignore their cries for help so she went in to save as many as she could before a proper response team came. Her speed and strength made things easy but what surprised her was that the flames never seemed to hurt her no matter how close she came to them. The after the fire was taken care the ponies thanked her for what she did and praised for her abilities, something Gloria hadn't heard in years touching her. This news soon caught the attention of the royal sisters who summoned her to award her a medal for her heroism. She took the award with humility and some shyness, however she did talk to Celestia and Luna about how she didn't take any harm from the fire they did test to confirm that the phoenix magic she that received years ago gave her an immunity to flames. Celestia then offered her a position in an Equestrian recuse task force seeing her physical abilities and unique talent would be a great asset in saving lives but she would have a place to call home and people who would treat her well.
Personality- Her personality changes according to her situation, on duty she is courageous, strong willing to give and receive orders, and doesn't stop until the disaster is averted and everyone is safe. But off duty she's quite reserved given her past and the occasional weird look from her appearance, she usually doesn't speak to others unless she's spoken to, but does try to be kind to others, namely her allies and children.
