powerful shot indeed. There's nothing wrong with this. This is life, it happens, get over it! x'D
Sad for the horse, yes, but no need to freak out about it. This is a very powerful, meaningful image (to you as well, it seems from the comments (: ) and I admire you for not being afraid to take a picture and post it. Most would say "ew" and move on.

Such vibrant colours within such tragic death, this is a sheer amazing and very appreciatable piece, well shot.

That's a bit distourbing, but is the real life, it could happen to every animal (and to people too..)
It's sad, but it's true. I'm agree with you: this image have got too much to tell..it makes think a lot...

That is indeed a powerful shot, it renews descriptions I couldn't come up with before, let alone lets me get a good look at the body and anatomy of the horse.
Although ugh, the stench must have been something really horrid though, I'll bet you could smell that from a mile away. >_<
I needed some inspiration and example for a verbal image of the aftermath of a war scene though because I've had writers block for who knows how long...
Something struck me just now though while looking at that horses' chest....
What people don't know though about this image is that horse looks like it was in better condition when it died, than some of the ones I've seen in human possession. Thanks for uploading it. :3

Poor creature.. Like NellAnne Im also a vegetarian, and I agree that this is a painfully sad image, but death happens, and we have to accept it. Shielding ourselves from it doesn't help.
All these people flaming you need to understand that life isn't just all pretty and full of blue sky's and tweety birds. Horrible things are just as big part of life, like war and death and pain. We don't like it, and most of it is pointless and wrong, but it dosent mean you should sensor it all out just because a few people like to stay in their happy little dream-world where nothing ever bad happens.
Of course I could understand them if you were actually finding pleasure or entertainment from seeing this poor animal dead, but you took it for a reason, because you felt it meant something for you.

yes it is really horrifying buts its still an amazing photo... some people probably are not bad ass enough to handle it. but its really cool. its nice u got a pic of it... my little brother went to this creepy place once and there was a dead horse and i was like did u take a picture and he was like no it was too gross and i was totally bummed i wanted to see it! it is conceptual because horses do symbolize alot of things so it definitley has alot of meanings, which is great. some peoples photos dont have much meaning in them its boring.

thak you so much, in addition my friends since around 15 years call me caballo (horse), and when i take this picture in the arizona-sonora desert i was in a stage of several internal changes, in life, in work, in relationship, in solitud... so i found in this image that even a died horse like old myself can be beautiful and have impact, and maybe the people can understand better a new horse seeing that old is dead.

I agree with you. The color is good, but that does not make it good photography. What makes something good photography, is the subject. NOT a pleasant subject.

i have a lot of time that i don't check this gallery, i'm just reding the comments... thaks for your comment.... i totally agree with you (and disagree with the other 2 comments, this is an art photo page, and for me art is expression, and foto is composition, and this photo have the two topics, its a very depresive image with a beautiful composition... i love animals, i don't kill this horse, i just find it in my way...
