Ariel doesn't have a great relationship with Arjen's parents because of his weight. Her friends either know too many details, or barely even know she's married at all.

They're happy she's happy. They didn't meet him until he was already 400 pounds so the gain isn't as shocking.
Besides, they're used to Ariel being all about chonk at this point. It's a little weird, but there's worse things to be obsessed with.
