Apophis has a good reputation. He is known as the god of evil, chaos, darkness and destruction. In some accounts of his legend, he was actually an ancient sun god, who was cast aside when Ra took the stage.
He represents evil, with which one had to fight to contain it; However, it would never be annihilated, it was only damaged or subdued, as otherwise the solar cycle could not be carried out daily and the world would perish.
