History
Alaric was born and raised in Roseelf, he was the youngest child out of three siblings. As a child, Alaric was fragile and weak. He spent majority of his childhood bedridden and confined to his house with nothing but books to satisfy his boredom. His family owned a small Tea business that was very popular with the elderly of Roseelf. Being financially stable, the family was peaceful but lacked any sorts of excitement. Lotti, his older sister spent the most time with him and told him stories about Old Eden. She taught him about philosophy and was his inspiration to find a meaning to his life. His mother, Kamilla would constantly warn him about terrible beings called “Aragami”, however instead of being frightened, the boy became intrigued.
  Eventually, Alaric got better and was well enough to leave the safety of his house. Though, he was not able to make a single friend due to being isolated from other children and the world for so long. His touch with reality was mixed with his belief for the mythological and fairy tale world. Having only seen the world from his backyard, the green eyed child wandered the streets of Roseelf admiring the “retro” look it had. He met his first friend,Harold when he wandered down an alleyway filled with food stands. Even after all of Alaric’s nonsensical ramblings about the existence of fairies, the other boy was the first to hold his hand out and ask to be Alaric’s friend. Ever since he was a child, Alaric had always been interested in the world’s secrets. Harold shared his dream of eventually seeing the world the way it originally was.
  Harold and Alaric quickly became good friends, they would always play together and discuss their dreams. This was a time period where Alaric was the most happy and feel like he was worth something. He’ll report to Lotti about his adventures with Harold everyday and record it in his journal. He loved his friend and even hoped that this wonderful dream of his doesn't end. One day, Alaric mentions the Aragami to Harold, which caused the other boy to tense up almost immediately. He mentions, how he wants to see an Aragami one day which his friend could only reply with an uneasy smile. Finally coming to a decision, Alaric let his curiosity get the best of him and he drags his friend to go search for “Aragami” despite the latter’s protests. After several attempts, he came up with nothing, he then traced a rumor about a forest.
  He wanders into the forest for his search as he had no knowledge on the Aragami other then they were dangerous beings who consume everything. Harold was shaking by this point, however the flare of adrenaline that sparked in Alaric caused him to not notice his friend’s discomfort. While he ran around, searching for the nonexistent Aragami, Alaric failed to notice the steep cliff at the end of the forest and lost his balance. In desperation, Harold lurched forward and grabbed hold of Alaric,however, the weight of the two causes the ground beneath them to give way and the two pummeled down to the ground. Luckily, the cliff was not that high above the ground and both sustained injuries, Harold being the one worse off as he tried to save Alaric.
  Later, Alaric who only sustained minor injuries visited his friend in the hospital to apologize. To his disbelief, his friend never looked at him once. Harold never looked at Alaric as he told the other boy about how he lost his father to an Aragami. The flare that he saw in Alaric’s eyes were too dangerous for him. It was then that Alaric’s world came crashing down as the next words spoken by his beloved friend shattered him.
    “Al, I don’t think I can stay as your friend anymore. It’s too much for me. I...I can’t handle it. You’re just too out of touch with reality. ”
  Those words were like spears, Alaric could only look down and with a wavering voice he responded, “ I...understand, I’m sorry, Harold. It was fun, thank you for ever being my friend. Farewell” He left with a slight glance to his friend who didn't say another word. Afterwards, Alaric isolated himself from the world. He resumed reading countless number of books over and over again. The feeling that he was dead surfaced everyday, there wasn't much meaning to his life yet he didn't feel the need to end his meaningless life either. The loss of his only friend was too great and had carved a deep scar into his heart, he knew that it was his fault. The flare that once made him feel alive had vanished without a trace and would be gone for the next few years.

  At the age of fifteen, Alaric had started working at his family shop and occasionally he would travel to other districts as a way to distract himself from the empty feeling that haunts him. He would take his time to observe others and make small chat but he never got too close. Eventually, when he went to walk around Velmist , he was suddenly attacked by another boy who was younger than he was. The boy tried to pickpocket him but Alaric noticed and he retaliated, the two rolled and threw punches at each other for a good five minutes before both collapsing on each side from exhaustion. Alaric after so long of feeling like an empty shell felt that flare once more and he thought about how this person might be interesting and worth observing, he invites the boy out to lunch. He learns that the boy’s name is Jaspar.
  Alaric expresses an interest in street fights and the two, who have become good friends fought with others in the streets, both expressing excellent partnership and support towards each other. Alaric regained his flare, and he felt alive again. Soon after his eighteenth birthday, he moves out of his parent’s home and got a apartment of his own. It was around this time that he met Linda Bathory and her friend Aine Valentine. Linda offered jobs to him and Jaspar, though wasn't specific about it but he needed money for books. He befriends the two rather quickly.
  One day he noticed a Nathair co recruitment paper and it immediately sparked his interest. Wandering his whole life, looking for something to give him the flare he needs to feel alive, becoming a God Eater was a great idea to him. Remembering his childhood obsession with seeing and battling an Aragami, he decided to send in an application, hoping to get accepted.
