.........Another sketch >____<..........done in PEN 8DI don't have any time to do anything serious. Ugh, thankfully Summer is coming up in 2 weeks. Hopefully that'll be the time to do a boatload of drawing. (I did this after some serious testing 8D)
ANYWAYS. Yeah. wanted a quick reference of my OC, Amaya C:
Basics:
Skin: pale
Eyes: Right, dark blue; Left, violet
Hair: Black with a dark purple highlight
Tanktop: Black
Skirt: Pink plaid w/ black & white stripes
Shoes: Knee-high black converse
Gloves: Black fishnet

Really? 8D Maybe I should actually stop thinking/planning my drawings and just let my hand do whatever it wants because that's exactly what I did when I doodled this and there came that pose outta nowhere, lol xD Thanks :3 If you have tips for poses that makes the drawing not look boring, I would love some, because I'm usually not very good at that XD

lol I suck at poses(or I just haven't worked on them)... I realize that I don't do fullbody all that much...which is bad. I need to work on that.
Poses with "movement" are good (poses that aren't just straight up and down blahness). Sometimes it really depends on the mood you are going for. Erm sometimes if I am actually going to draw a fullbody pic, I actually do the pose in real life (and sometimes use in the mirror) to get a better understanding of it...or you can use a ref...or make on up off the top of your head going with something that looks cool ahaha. Oh and it's a big plus if you match the body language with the facial expression.

Aahhhh! Whoaa, everything about this is so coool@! That's such an awesome POSE! I coouldn't for the life of me draw a pose that..pose-y without reference. Not to mention the sketchy-ness is like an art in itself, and the dark parts all colored black like a ..uh, MANGA style. The skirt has great movement. And the curvy-ness of her body, particularly the legs is so,,,so....awesome

How do I make drawing look easy? You'd be able to figure that out by actually watching the person draw. And I'm slower than snail piss.

Dude, you SO have skills, do not deny this. Even if a regular person spent as much time as you do on your art, nothing decent would come from their pathetic hand because they do not have SKILL. YOU do. When YOU spend that much time, you get a beautiful piece of art envied and admired by hundreds of people and other fellow artists. So don't go around saying you have no skill because I will be happy to stuff all this in your face again xD And I say, again, I would KILL for the abilities you have equipped in that lean right hand of yours.

You know what, yesterday I started on a drawing in my sketchbook of a smexy scene I thought up in my head. I figures, "hey, the poses are simple, we just see the peoples heads and shoulders basically."
After 30 damn minutes, I was still trying to draw the circles for the head, I took my several hours just to get the general look for the first character and several hours just do draw the next character's FACE!! I MEAN C'MON THE FACE! and the bust and the HAIR! I'm am f*cking slower than SNAIL PISS! I'm already considering quitting my aspiration of making a manga-
particularly after the statistics I read about the chances of becoming one.
(From the Manga about 2 boys wanting to create a manga: Bakuman)-"You won't become a mangaka. The Only ones who make it are a tiny percentage of those with ''talent'', the ''true geniuses''. The rest are just gamblers. A mangaka is someone who can live off making manga for the rest of their lives. Even if you get your manga in a weekly magazine, it's ranked every week by the readers. Alright, that's a bit slow, but I understand your desire to work towards the right affect you were looking for. I mean, kissing poses are hard. Well, for me, at least. But you taking your time pays off.
Okay, before TOTALLY giving up on your dream/dream job here, you have to realize that this is ONE person's input on the matter. True, I remember Masashi Kishimoto mentioning that he does not have much time for anything else. But, then again, who says you won't be that one? You could be the one who could totally live off this stuff, comfortably too. You definately have the skills, and you haven't even graduated from high school yet. I know this might not help but, you never know until you try. And just in case it doesn't, I think it's best you have a few art-related alternatives to fall back on. I'm sure you'll be great in anything you try :3

I must say, I truly thank you for your encouragement. You could have just said, "Well, if you really believe that, then it must be so, I hope you'll have luck with other opportunities."
I've always heard of those that tried doing what they love, knowing the risks. They fell on there butt, managed to get up and succeeded. Of course this does not always happen. I always prefer taking the crystal clear road rather than the foggy one. When stuck between peace and the storm, pick the storm, eh? Ok then. I shall try and keep practicing at getting faster at drawing.

This is great! :3 The pose that you have her in is very unrestrained and eye-catching, I can almost see her moving on the page! -^^- And of course the character herself is very cool and bad-ass looking C:< The only thing is that her left arm seems a little short, but taking into account you did this in pen, I think it's still pretty amazing

Bad-ass? Really? 8D That was my intention, but i was afraid that i made her too cute looking to achieve that aspect of her. I'm glad that you were able to see her as i intended, it means a lot ^__^
I think i shortened her arm a teensy-bit on purpose; to show that it was raised and a bit more closer to the audience than her other arm was. If that made any sense. But, thank you for the critique C:

Well, it wasn't too hard to see her in that way, so I think you did a pretty good job of getting your vision across clearly
So you shortened it in order to give a view of her arm with an altered perspective... I see now!

"This year"? As in, when their birthdays pass, you consider them another year older from the age they started with? Not as in,"Oh, my OC is 3 this year 8D" Thats cool. I just keem mine the same age though...for story reasons o3o
How would you figure out birthdays for OCs? I only know Sakura's Dx

well techniqually they have 2 ages.
The age they appear +how long I have had them.
So say I created asuna and she looked about 15.
Since the day i created her its been 2 years, thus she is 17 in my mind.
But she is still 2 years old at heart xD
I usually use the date they were created.
but because so many of my OCs were born the same day I instead do, 'well this character is a bit like this which I think is a trait of a blah blah blah. so he must be born this date.!
