ugh, i'm so sorry about the weird text. my eyes are about to fall out.ANYWAY! this is one of my very favorite dolls, ysrael. he belongs to the delightful
he's positively gorgeous, and i really wanted to paint him. not only is he pretty, she takes beautiful pictures of him, and he has an all around great story.
i tried to pay particular attention to his hair, but i think i failed. but... i tried.
i messed up his necklace, though. DAMMIT.almost done exclusively in painter. oTL
and GOD DAMN, i can FINALLY make something AS PRETTY AS I FUCKING WANT. kthxbai.

i've drawn as long as i can remember, always wanted to be an artist... but i've only been regularly CGing since the summer of 2007. i've also been in and out of art school since my teens.

My parents say that photography is one hobby too many, anyways...and that it's all useless.

oh, no. that's terrible. you're not the first young person i've spoken to that has that problem.
do you want to pursue art as a career? really, you can do whatever the hell you want to do when you're old enough, regardless of what your parents say. 
but being creative is like a compulsion. i've switched majors several times, and schools a few times, and i always come back to art. i MUST create. if i don't, i feel wrong, i feel off, and as if something isn't quite right - sort of restless.
which is why i'm pursuing art as a career. because i know, just know that it's what i need to do.
that was a lot of ranting... sorry.

I was thinking about going into photography because it appeals to me AND my father, but I really don't know. :\ But I'm so determined not to conform into the blatant Korean stereotypes and be some kind of successful doctor, lawyer, businesswoman...
So I've decided to study gang violence, drug trafficking, white-collar and corporate crime, things like that...I want to be an investigator. Or I might study hostage negotiation. >.> The hard part is convincing my mom that I can do it. My dad thinks that potentially having a daughter in the FBI would be so awesome. My mom's kind of worried.
8D I find it amazing that art calls to you. A lot of people search for their entire lives to find a career that calls to them. I think that I'm completely sure about my choice.

let me tell you, i had a blast doing him. i tried to hold on to my own style while making him look more like a doll instead of super realistic. his hair is a little hard to paint, but it's so delicious, i couldn't resist!
