I had a fox that looked kinda like this follow me around for a while once, it never got aggressive and I didn't have any food on me. It just seemed genuinely curious and almost playful, (I didn't try to pet it or anything).

Are silver foxes around where you live, or were you traveling? I'd do anything to even see one of these from afar. Or any other type of fox, or animal really.
But anyway, awesome. Silver foxes have such a beautiful color mutation. It saddens me that they were only bred for their fur, and still are.
