【 P R O F I L E 】 • Alias: Hime
•  Name: Meiko Yukimura
• Gender: Female
• Species/ (or theme): Orihime ( Tanabata Legend )
• Age: 13
• Birthdate: June 17th
• Height: 4 "10 / 147 cm
• Weight: 90 LBS / 40.8 KG
• Eyes: Blue
• Hair: Black
【 I N F O 】 ★ Color Scheme: Black / Gray / White / Blue

★ Partner: Meteor (Austin) KiyokoAmaya

★ Weapon: Talons. She normally keeps her hands hidden inside her sleeves. When not fighting, she takes them off and stores them in there.
★  Battle Strategy/Abilities: Hime can be a reckless fighter and likes to focus on close to mid-range combat. Her attacks are like a powerhouse but lacks the accuracy of landing a hit on her enemy. She does not like standing still and prefers to always be on the attack during a fight.

Moon Dance】BASIC ATTACK : Attacking with her talons sends out crescent like shapes towards the enemy from a distance. Her movement can mimic a twisting dance.

Luna Waltz】ATTACK : Using her own feathers, ( either from her head ornament or wings ) she can throw them like sharp knives at the opponent. The knives do not return on their own and must either be retrieved manually or use another one.

Shooting Star】ATTACK : After throwing a handful of paper stars in the direction of the opponent, she can 'shatter' them in the air creating a dark smoke like fog. The fog can mimic a night sky and still allow min. light through. Strong gusts of winds can blow the fog away or it'll disappear on its own within 10 seconds. She often uses this to make a speedy getaway too.

Love Birds】NEUTRAL : By animating paper cranes, she can send them out with messages within a short distance to another person. The cranes can have  messages written in them and once unwrapped they will turn back into ordinary paper. These messengers can be destroyed in the same way that paper is, the only exception is that they do not wilt when wet.   ★ Magic:
Star Gazer】LV.1 DEFENSE : A temporary shield is created to lessen the blow of an attack by making series of consecutive attacks in the desired direction. The crescent shaped attacks will merge together to create the shield. The shield resembles a transparent midnight sky.

Whispering Lullaby】 LV.1 HEALING : An outline of a glowing star appears above the wound to help speed and promote minor healing. The star will remain until the magic wears off.
Weakness: She fears water, it will make her nervous. Loud noises such as guns or screaming will startle her and remind her of the day she died.

Critical Hit: Being completely submerged under water when her necklace ( with the star inside ) is removed. ( necklace could have been removed far prior to being submerged into the water )

Berserker Mode: 【 LOCKED 】
Partner Combo:  【 LOCKED 】

【 P E R S O N A L I T Y】Soft spoken || Caring || Observant || Determined || Courageous || Dependent || Dull || Secretive

Meiko is a very soft spoken child. She hardly speaks up especially around groups of other people. While confined to people she is very familiar with, she does speak more often but even then it is kept to low whispers as she avoids speaking loudly. She has a silent determination when it comes to completing tasks and was often told by others that she had a dull personality. Even when excited, her outwardly appearance makes her appear calmer and much less enthusiastic than what she maybe feeling inside. She has a naturally caring personality, more so towards her friends. Often she is concerned if others are doing well and may hover over people with worry.

Her quiet personality may say otherwise but, Meiko has quite the courageous streak. She can be adventurous when it comes to trying new things but is still limited to certain childish fears like most children are.

Although she can be observant of her own surroundings and be independent on her own to a point, emotionally she is dependent on those close to her. While there aren't many that she would consider to be close, those that are she strongly relies on them. She constantly seeks to stick close to these people and even if she may be courageous, will seek their approval or wait to hear their decision first before deciding on her own.
Likes: origami, arts & craft, smell of fresh bread, homemade food, candy
Dislikes: centipedes, large bodies of water, guns,

【 H I S T O R Y 】
Meiko's birth was a blessing to her immigrant Japanese parents whom were very eager to settle down into their new lives in America. As a Japanese-American daughter, it helped to solidify their transition into the new country and culture as being a physical link to their new beginning. Although her parents were fascinated by the prospects and fortune that America was believed to offer, they also stayed true to their heritage. Rather than to name their daughter a more Americanized name, they chose Meiko after her recently deceased grandmother.

Growing up, Meiko was a quiet child who drifted away easily from loud crowds. Preferring to play by herself, the young girl spent her time practicing origami, a beautiful crafting of paper into masterpieces that her mother had taught her. As a child of Japanese descent, there was, with no doubt, disagreements with other children who often confused her as being a foreigner. They were never hostile, just curious children who were still getting used to the presence of those who may not look exactly like themselves.

After the attack that changed the lives of Japanese-Americans, this innocent, friendly outlook easily shifted to one of of paranoia and disgust. Like many of the others all around the country, Meiko and her family were forcibly taken away to designated internment camps after the horrible events following Pearl Harbor.

It wasn't easy growing up away from the only home that she ever knew, and as a child it was difficult for her to understand why her parents always cried when she asked them when they were going back home. It was no glorious life having a childhood in the internment camps. All the luxuries that her family had, running water, their own bathrooms, food, everything was different in this harsh new reality. Her parents were hit the hardest by this transition but still they tried to cheer their daughter up with stories of banquets of food that they would prepare in celebration once they finally returned home.

Even in a camp among many who held a familiar resemblance to her own, Meiko still couldn't feel completely at ease playing with other children. She remained alone.

As a special gesture to try and promote 'good relationships' and to advertise to the rest of the world that these internment camps were not all that bad, school meet ups were arranged between the camp's own school and the school of the city where it was located in. These organized events were encouraged to help the students intermingle with each other but mainly to promote that all was well during this time of paranoia. The students in the internment camp were properly explained to that they would be expected to pair up and learn to get along with one of the other students.

Meiko, in all truth, wasn't frightened by the idea of meeting so called unkind Americans that the others around the camp were furious with. Nervous, and somewhat determined to make a good impression to the other child she would be paired up with, the young girl didn't want to arrive empty handed. It was unfortunate that Meiko did not even have anything of true value in the camp with her so she did the only thing that she knew she could do, she folded more cranes. To outsiders, there were sure to be sneers or whispers over the materials that the cranes were created with. Meiko had used anything that she could fine, mainly focusing on the few magazine or newspaper clips that she was able to sneak away from the adults without being caught.

When the fateful meeting occurred, Meiko was surprised to find that maybe this other child and herself shared more in common than she thought. As it turns out, they boy had the same idea of bringing something to give to the other. The boy, Austin, had brought candy for her. A treat that she had been missing since she arrived at the camp  and was overjoyed to have again. By the end of the day of their first encounter, the two children had eaten quite a lot of candy and were now surrounded by tiny cranes made from the wrappers as Meiko had helped to teach her new friend how to fold them too. It was a shame when the day had to come to an end and the next visit so far away. She was sad to see her new friend go and held on to the hope that they would see each other again on the next visit.

With every meeting that went by, her new friend would bring materials with him for them to create into more origami. She enjoyed the simple task, conversing with the other child and learning more about his own life back home. Despite the circumstances surrounding the reason for their meeting, she found herself enjoying their time more than she ever thought she would. Each visit ended much too soon and the periods between them stretching longer than she remembered.

She was confused why her parents told her she couldn't write letters to Austin or why the other residents in the camp would give her disapproving looks every time she asked if the other children were going to visit again. Her parents had tried their best to keep their only daughter ignorant of the war, only providing her with vague bits and pieces to keep her hopeful for a bright future. But now that she was beginning to ask all the right questions, they realized that it was time to tell her the truth.

Her quiet personality and lack of true understanding for all the details kept her from feeling the same rage that many others at the camp had but now, after seeing the true horror behind the creation of these camps and the less than hopeful knowledge of ever returning back home, she became torn. For the first time, she found herself angry at the world for why, even though she was born in America, she wasn't even allowed to visit her friend anytime she wished to because her own country saw her as the enemy.

Powerless, Meiko immersed herself in a new determination of folding 1000 cranes. If her hope for returning home was never going to come to fruit, then maybe there was something else she can turn her attention towards. Her wish, her new dream was just to be able to spend more time with her friend. She prayed each time she folded a new crane, hoping that each one would bring her closer to her dream.

Meiko had never been under the impression or idea of making her own escape from the camp, so when Austin continued to bring up the topic to her she dismissed it as just words. She was happy that her friend cared for her well being but after realizing the truth of the situation, she didn't believe it would be possible. But when Austin, true to his word, arrived at her housing in the camp  during the night of the storm, she was shocked. He gave her a single star and a look of hope that everything would be okay. It may have been by fate, chance or pure luck that just before he arrived she had finished her last crane too.

Immediately he put his plan into action, ushering the young girl and her family to follow him to safety. They followed as quietly as they could but it was difficult to sneak out alone when sharing close quarters with other families. Word quickly spread as others found out why the suspicious group was out braving the terrible storm, and soon the whole camp was in on the escape.

Everything happened too quickly for the young girl after that, the shouts and pounding noise of the storm made it more than difficult to concentrate on everything happening. She had long since lost sight of her parents as they were swallowed up by the sudden crowd as other residents took the opportunity to attempt to make their escape as well. Her friend assured her that they would make it outside safely and they need to hurry as well.

In the chaos, she didn't even notice that they had reached the river before Austin was urging her to jump in to swim to the safety on the other side. Only Austin's tight grip on her shaking hand kept her grounded as she more than trusted him with her life. As she jumped into the freezing water, the girl didn't glance back at the place that had kept her caged, her hand clenching her friend's tightly at the promise of her wish coming true. Perhaps if she had looked back, she would have noticed the soldiers, who had been patrolling the area in search of the escapees, raise their guns and fire at them.

She was surprised when she didn't feel the burn of a bullet tearing through her although she could recognize the sound. It wasn't until she felt Austin's hand slipping from hers that she realized she wasn't the one that had been hit Frantically, she grabbed her friend in a tight hug, wrapping her arms tightly around the limp body in an attempt to stay afloat for the both of them. The raging river, spurred on by the storm's power, began to pull and attempt to drag the children down into its depths. But through it all, as much as she could, Meiko held  onto her friend, refusing to leave him behind even as they were eventually pulled under.

The moment her eyes opened, her first thoughts were of Austin. But as she glanced around, she found herself alone in an eerie darkness. A mysterious voice echoed around her, speaking of promises and a new beginning but only if she were to make a special 'deal'. "Would you like to see your friend again?"  The offer was too tempting for her to deny.

Cause of Death: Drowned.
Contract: Rebirth. Reincarnation to another life. The reason Meiko chose this contract is to start over a new life with her friend. She is hoping that the circumstances will be better than her previous life. Her biggest regret is that their escape plan never worked and her wish never came true in finding a new life to spend with Austin.
