Description "Amamaiko" is a monster of "Pocket Monster Sun & Moon".
Lately I'm recording and watching this animation sometimes.
But I don't know Pokemon series in detail!

"But I don't know Pokemon series in detail!"

Okay, akikaza. As someone who has lots of knowledge on the franchise, let me explain.

Amamaiko (or Steenee, as my country calls it) is the main Pokemon of Mallow (or Mao, as you'd call her), one of the main characters in Pokemon: The Series Sun & Moon.

Pokemon, as an anime, has been on the air for 2 decades now. It adapts the Pokemon video games, and follows a 10-year-old boy named Ash Ketchum (or Satoshi, as you'd call him) who, along with his longtime partner Pikachu, journeys region after region, collecting gym badges from gym leaders, catching new Pokemon, and aiming to be a master. However, this trio of antagonists named Team Rocket often stops him in his tracks, and wants his Pikachu, but all of their plans get stopped by Satoshi & Co. and they're seen blasting off (or getting carried off-screen by a Bewear (orΒ Kiteruguma, as you'd call it) in the Sun & Moon series).

Pokemon, as a franchise, started out as a pair of RPG video games for the Game Boy called Pocket Monsters Red & Green. The games were huge successes, and subsequently lead to Pokemon being Nintendo's 2nd biggest franchise, behind Mario.Β

When most Japanese franchises get distributed to English audiences, the names of the characters change to make them pronounceable for the English audience, and Pokemon is a huge example of this.

In Japan, the Pokemon anime has been airing on TV Tokyo since its premiere. In the United States, the Pokemon anime used to air on Cartoon Network, but it moved to Disney XD starting with the Sun & Moon series.

My Pleasure. Is there anything else you'd like to know about the Pokemon franchise?

Thank you!
But if I want to know about it, I will search Japanese web pages.Β

Just one more question off the bat;

Many Americans are debating whether Pokemon or Digimon is better, primarily because their names both end in "mon". They primarily think Pokemon has better games while Digimon has better animes, but what do Japanese think about this "Pokemon VS Digimon" debate?

In Japan "Pokemon" is known by many many peopleΒ
and "Digimon" is known by only anime fans and children in these days.
So they seldom, if ever, are compared.
If there are rivals of Pokemon in Japan,
they are only "Anpanman", "Doraemon" and "Dragon ball".
