Simple little reference I did for myself when I contemplated what a baby bonnetpatch might look like in her backstory! I imagine her eyes and floof would be even bigger in proportion to her body than it normally would be as an adult! I’ve started to learn over the years that character design is very important when using it to say something about their personality!

Keeping this in mind, I tried to accentuate her kind and loving attitude, using her fluffy fur to highlight her gentle nature, and wide eyes to convey how perceptive she is! Her cool color palette also say something about her overall demeanor, typically level headed and calm, she likes to analyze a situation before deciding how to handle it, coming in handy especially in an argument or a moment of stress with her patients!

As a kit, she was even more shy and focused after the abandonment of her mother, and Yarroweed had to learn how to break her out of her shell, and teach her that it was okay to let her guard down around others she didn’t know, and relaxing in the face of anxiety was a useful skill she was taught that she still uses to this day!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little story time with more Bonnetpatch insight! I hadn’t really explored her personality as a kit before, and I had a lot of fun taking a mini break to draw something fun and cute!
