EDIT: fixed the text to my intended storybook style. it was the style my friend and i used for the storybook project we did in french class last year... french title "Le Garcon du Journal"-->french teacher's idea :/...and i also realized, after my pc crashed and reformatted it, i never saved the updated photoshop file to my external harddrive... FUCK MY LIFE. so now, i dunno what im gonna do, cuz i cant exactly edit the drawing -___-

I really like this. It's drawn so simply with this ageness to it that makes it look like it could come from a children's picture book. And at the same time it reminds me of Professor Layton.

funny b/c after i drew this during english class in 9th grade, i realized that it kinda did look like the professor layton style xD

The background isn't stupid or tacky at all! I love it. It's simple and matches the characters very well, and gives them this special, child-book illustration feel I think fits here really well! One thing it may lack is some shading to blend in with the boy and his dog
I also love the color choice. So warm, and yet so pale... Exactly what a retro city should look like!
