Because ze (one of the pronouns for androgynous (neutral) person) likes to dress like a boy and a girl.

I felt like drawing frilly dresses, and I found a couple good references on pinterest!

Since ze's hair is very pink, the original color of the dress would clash with zir hair. So that's what I wanted a calmer color so there's a color contrast. Using reference pictures make drawing with details SO much easier! Using ref pics ftw!
