ugh it's finally done D:
Not too keen on how it turned out but at this point I'm tired of working on it.

I've wanted to draw a picture like this since I visited San Juan National Park last summer, but only got the motivation to draw it now x3;
So here's the pack out on a trek through their territory
(you can find the line art in my scraps if you wish to color it!)

Interestingly, I didn't start with the line art this time, I actually did a really rough color painting of the scene, then added the figures to the scene (I find it works better than adding a scene to figures). Once I had the rough color sketch I did the line art on top, then refined/detailed the colors. That's why the line art looks so loose, I just roughly traced over the colors x3; I'm not sure I like the effect but it's a hell of a lot easier than straight line arting a detailed BG.

Also, trees are a pain in the butt to color, water is a challenge, but rocks are pretty fun/easy

PS CS4, I don't even know how many hours (a lot), I've been working on it the last couple days since class has been cancelled for snow)
