In the desolate north where the Bloody Flanks were cast out to, there were little flowers. There were some, yes, but not as many as south of Skeldr Mountain. Ulrich never knew of the great colors spring could bring, he could only listen to the tales his mother and father told him, and watched as they celebrated the end of winter. It was a joyous time, either way, as new life always was.

It was no surprise that Ulrich was blown away by the colors of spring as they marched south. Everyone they came across seemed to be in good spirits.

It seemed the mood was infectious.
