Friend of mine said he was supposed to be canon - or at least 'mentioned'("a dark shadow behind Heat with red eyes" on concept arts(unaviable to prove now though)). It could be a hint to his deep intentions or something guiding him the the really bad time*ba-dum-tss*
So... He is fanon, and current version even has a friend... Or at least something close to a 'friend/rival/interest' in our minds - they always fight to the point leaving hosts injured in sadistic ways(for Soot it's heavy burns and CO intoxitacions)and confused since if there are bleeding wounds - they are 'taken care of' by searing.
...Now I want to draw them more.
