I love the colours and the soft lighting! I also really like the contrasts. Awesome work! :3

Well, it was quite a quick one so the result isn't that good I'm afraid...but I'm happy you like the colours!

Aww yes! I would definetly like to see more rough watercolor from you! Don't you think it's a bit hard to "let loose" if you are used in more detailed/refined artwork? ^^ It's a whole another form on its own but i think it's definetly worth exploring it ^^

It was fun - hardly any lineart for example. But I think I didn't chose a very good subject for the exercise - all that white. I was concerned more with making the snow work than anything else.

It's good to try something new and drawing rough sketches is a perfect way to improve one's painting scills. I also do some from time to time.

KORRA <3
I really like the composition, it's so open and spacious.
And the way you painted the snow is so beautiful, I love all the colours *____*

A strange kind of impression from this- I get the feeling that the bear/dog is actually part of the landscape , a sort of animated snow hill. The riding costume is especially well done; I would say considering the unusual nature of her mount, she has a very good 'seat'! The odd branches give a nice decorative touch- opaque white?

I know what you mean about the dog being part of the landscape. It's tricky drawing a white animal in a snowy landscape - I tried to add variety by using other colours rather than just plain white, but it didn't workout that well.

Well, of course that's the whole point of having white fur in an arctic landscape- and you did say it was meant to be a quick sketch. If you'd gone for more 3-dimensional shading, the snow would have shaded into the blues, the dog into sort of a brownish tan or grey (depending on the breed) . Mixing the colors to represent the prismatic effect of sun on snow is a good idea- I've read of an American watercolorist who does just that, John Pike. Did I ever tell you that as a teacher I consider watercolor to be the most difficult medium to master? Don't despair!

You did the colors very well in this. I like it .
Out of curiosity, what has you frustrated with season 2?

Thanks so much!
A number of things annoyed me about season 2 (some minor spoilers ahead). My main problem is that I don’t really like how Korra is portrayed – she just seems so…silly I guess. The whole conflict with her father seems to be forced, and her reactions out of scale. Her attitude towards her uncle (which is bordering on some sort of admiration I would say) seems rather strange considering how rebellious she generally is supposed to be and considering her treatment of everybody else. First she complains about being ordered around by people, then she goes around doing whatever Unalaq tells her. She so naïve it’s a bit unbelievable. Somehow from the headstrong, confident character she used to be, she has turned into a whiney, self-absorbed child.
The whole issue with Tenzin’s family not being the “perfect” family is also a bit tedious. I take it that it was supposed to explore an interesting question and add depth to the characters, but again I think it feels forced and out of character. And even had this worked, Kya’s and Boomi’s reaction to the argument with Tenzin: leaving him to search for the child all alone, seems so emotionally immature. I can imagine a teenager acting like that, but it just doesn’t seem like the reaction of an adult.
To be fair though, I don't want to judge based on 3 episodes. I’m hoping that much of this will make more sense as the show progresses.

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond to this!
After getting further into the season I essentially have to agree with you on most counts. As someone pointed out it's like the character development she went through in season 1 completely vanished but that might have to do with the uncertainty of the series' continuation? I do agree with you about how strange her attitude seemed though; getting into a fight with Tenzin over his wanting to help her spiritual side to develop and then... going crazy for her uncle. I'm hoping with the last episode that the ball will now get rolling again and everything will begin to fall back into line and the real plot will kick off!

This looks cool. I like how the dog/bear came out! Your white and blue paintings are certainly one of my favourites! The rogher style is very nice as well, I like it when the contours of the main figure or shape are clearly marked - well done!

It really worked out! As you probably noticed I really enjoy your art, the fact that it is so delicate and does not attempt to 'impress' the viewer, it is very independent in a way.... I just like it very much!

Wow, thank you very much! Really! It means a lot. I know my work is a bit simplistic, and I'm very glad you like it nonetheless!
