From a very rough pencil sketch, scanned into the compuer, and redone and colored in Flash.

This image is much closer to the design from the show (note the eyes, which are not in my typical Sailor Moon style). It's still a bit of a cheat, since Laura usually has her head in her hands in some way, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets fits when it comes to drawing hands up and around a character's face.

I'll explain myself a bit more fully in my journal, but the fun thing about drawing characters from a show like Dr Katz or Home Movies, is that you don't have to be a great artist to try and match what they did. They have a wonderful crude simplicity that I really quite enjoy.
