My Contest entry for oceanv0dkaFinally got to finishing this piece!
my hand hurts s2g it's gonna fall off! pfft.
I couldn't add the last soosh when the journal updated because
I already had it all sketched out D;
I had a lot of fun doing this one. I saw the Sooshes and thought
that a bonfire & pirate stories went well with them and its what popped
in my head.
Brief Description:
Sailor Soosh seems one for stories in the seas, and getting help from
Vie & Kazan to make the story come alive with mystery and adventure
as it's being told to the others. With such special effects, who can't help
but believe they're true!

Wow, where to start.
This is an extremely cute peice featuring many adorable little sushi dogs >w<
I absolutely love the whole "scary story" thing going on, and how you really captured what a campfire gathering would look like.
I was pleased that you took into account how small sooshes are and how you made the blades of grass look so ginormous. Also the technique you used with the grass, making them different shades to portray depth.
Now onto the sooshes :3
The expressions are to die for, from the amused face of the story-teller, to the pups hiding their faces in fright. You captured their looks perfectly! I especially like how each individual sushi dog has it's own unique expression ^^
The shadows and the glow from the campfire really set the mood and make the peice so much more interesting than just flat colours.
I really enjoyed this peice and hope to see more like it!

I'm pleased that the grass came out good enough
and everything. I usually don't go into full backgrounds
because of how complex one can get but I'm
happy to know my efforts do pay off. The sushi dogs
are slowly becoming something I'm loving to draw
and having had the pleasure of drawing so many
was super fun.
