Description On a rewatch of Mazinkaiser and SKL, I got an itch to design my own go nagai style mech. Something for my favorite pilot, Jun Hono. Thus a series of mecha to certainly evolve over the foreseeable future.
“With the reconstruction of Minerva and the preservation of her base coding, the photon power lab sought to create a Minerva that could be piloted. None desired to rob the original Minerva of her seeming sentience, so the scientists instead decided to recreate a more basic version of her AI to assist in running a completely new mecha. The project was named “Artemis” after the historical predecessor to the mythological Minerva, and to reference the overall goal of the project: to experiment with and develop various photonic weapons systems old and new, integrating them into new designs.”
The first mech to come out of this was the Artemis Mk.1. With two built-in “photon snipers” and a “point-fire” exhaust system that fired a concentrated beam of heat, the Mk.1 was built for long range combat and cover fire, it’s powerful dual boosters able to give it the distance needed to outrange opponents. It also came equipped with two small shield generators in its legs, less powerful versions of the sheilds that protected the photon power lab. For close to mid-range engagements, the mk.1 could form its hands into the “Athena Gattler”. Not having the rocket punch function of the mazingers, Athena Mk.1 had more free space for ammo and jam protection, allowing it to unleash a long and near endless hail of impact shells. The mech was built to be compatible with the crown originally built for Venus A, as Jun was selected as the primary test pilot for the new series. That said, the engineers were working on a new scrander based on the technology used by the Kaisers…

I’m excited to get into mecha design, and there’s a lot more to come. Hope you enjoy
