Description
Here is Don being happy and singing (for when he was with Rose Chaplin) and then devastated in sorrow crying his heart out (when Rose rejected him for being a turtle). Aww, poor Donnie!

I just randomly tumbled across your gallery today and have been browsing it rapt since the encounter. I _love_ your TMNT style! It is so fascinatingly different from what you usually see around here that it's a real pleasure to the eye (: (I'm not saying I wouldn't like "the more common styles", though, but it's just always fun to find something that really stands out from the crowd)
Anyways, lovely doodles. My fav is the handsome Donnie on the top right corner. Gotta love that expression! <3

Well I have to say that this pic tells the story very well. Th thing that struck me was just how much emotion played into it. From where he's singing he seems so relaxed and at peace. Not tense as he usally is. It's like he's actually enjoying himself. You can actually hear him smile. But the next pic, the rejection one I'm guessing, you can clearly see the bitterness over such a trifle matter i.e him being a turtle in his face. But theres also a hint of sadness in his eyes and a bewilderment, not only that but he seems shocked. And the last one is obvious yes. The first profile (the one on the left) seems that he's trying to shrug it off, that it's nothing. It's just something that you gotta roll with and this happens all the time. He's building a barrier. But the other profile (the one on the right) shows that he can't just shrug it off and accept it. The barrier he created has fallen and he is really taking it hard. This was really important to him, the first and maybe last chance to find someone who loved him for who he was and what he was. But thats all come crashing down. It looks like he feels like he has lost the one and only chance he has ever had to find love. For Don, it's really personal and for someone to not love him for something so stupid as being a giant turtle seems to be sadness and shock as it's finally hit him. And the fact that the reason for the rejection is so simple that he can't explain it. The amount of tears is quite shocking but then again, this was personal to Don, very personal and he is really crushed by what has happened. Beng by the bookcase seems to indicate that when he gets upset he goes to the nerarest thing to offer him some lonely company. But the fact he is crying alone and not on someones shoulder once again shows how personal this is. Still a very powerful piece with a wide range of complex emotions put rather neatly and simply onto the page. It's just beggers belief that Rose would reject him for the simple reason of being a turtle. But thats begs the question. If she rejected him for being a turtle, why did she go out with him in the first place? All in all, a good piece that I'm faving just cause I can.

Rose dated Don because she thought he was a human turned into a turtle, not a turtle turned into a human-like creature.
She fears she will be doing bestiality if she stays with Don and be disowned by her family.
I am debating if I should bring her back or not to the story. Bishop is planning to use Don's son against him in the future and Rose could either help or hurt Don more. I need more feedback on this, so feel free to tell me your views on this.

Hey thats no problem. I could see a lot of work had gone into it and so I decided to write up what I saw. It is possible to have a torrent of tears if one is really upset. And with Donnie, that was prehaps the only chance he would maybe get of being loved as a person rather then a turtle.
Still even if it was the opposite of what Rose thought, it was still a poor excuse. And others may disagree but it wouldn't be bestiality as Donnie is capable of free thought and not ruled by instinct like animals. She could still stay with him but not go to that length. Love is more then just sex.
Now how did Donnie get a son? Well, that has to be his greatest invention I guess. Still, if it involves Bishop, it can't be good. I believe you should bring Rose back. It would create an interesting situation between them. Rose trying to make up for her mistake and Don, embittered about having his heart broken, would serve for some real moments of drama. Even though Rose was a bity of a cow to break Don's heart like that, it doesn't seem right that she is the villain of the piece, even if she comes back and they don't get back together then at least she has patched up any ill feelings and if they get back together then brill. I say go for it.

You are right, Don would want people to love him for being who he is, not what he is.
I'm thinking if Rose did return to Don, and knowing how Don is, I can't see how he would able to accept not mating with Rose again (being as amorous as he is). Turtles are kinda like bunnies with that sort of thing. Even though he thinks like a human, I can't see how he'd stand not being able to do it with Rose anymore when/if she came back into his life.
I wouldn't call his son being his greatest invention, more a creation (though inventions can be creations too). I don't think things will be patched up with Rose and Don though (when I think ideas up, I try to sense which ones will be most believable and work the best). With Don it's either all or nothing. Most likely not a type of 'closure' most will expect, but I'll have fun writing it out just the same since people care and appreciate this part of the story.

Thats true. People say that Raph is more receptive to his feelings but Donnie I think has a more mature outlook on life and as such, he has true feelings and he understands them.
You mean Rose and Donnie mated before? Thats news to me. I wonder what it was like for both parties. But Donnie and Rose must've really loved each other to go that far. Now I really feel for him. Well, Donnie thinks like a human but I'm sure he can rein hin his instincts. HE could do it through sheer will power or he could make the decsion himself. Or what Rose did to him might turn him off from her or the idea may repulse him.
Well, creation and invention are one and the same thing I think. Still, how did Donnie get a son? And if Rose does come back, they might not see eye to eye but they might be able to patch some of the problems they had up. With Donnie it is all or nothing, as you said. Yet Rose has nothing to lose and very little to gain. Well, maybe some type of closure but leaving it open ended as well is a good idea.
Well, I don't want Rose to be thought of as a bad person. Maybe having her trying to patch things uyp with Donnie and starting again is a nice idea. That shows that she wasn't really heartless and thatshe still loves Donnie. Hope that helps.

I'm thinking of having Donnie being resentful of Rose when she comes back to ask him for help when their son is grown and wants to kill them both for abandoning him.
How Don got a son was doing it the old fashion way and sheer good luck since I originally planned to have that fetus die off anyway.
Rose does love Don but apparently not enough since she fears rejection from her family and friends if she does stay with Don aka the animal creature thing.

Cahpter 12 does seem to not only hint but to also confirm that they did.
The vengenful son angle is a good way to work with them both.
Well, looks like Donnie got lucky and his love has been rewarded. It must've been nerve wracking for him the first time since he had never done it before.
Now I can understand Don being upset now. He was being denied his own son, hiw own fleash and blood. And how his love was betrayed.

I'm supposing Donnie would have been nervous too but still confident as Rose liked him then. He may have been gitty with glee since he's finally going to get to do 'it'.

I guess he would sorta boast but do it on the sly and in a way that the others would never pick up on. Besides he seems to be the type that is very caring and respectful of women. I mean look at him and April. But can you blame him, he's too nice a guy to even think about it and even so he does deserve it I think.

Raph and maybe Mikey seem the GIMMIE, GIMMIE type. Leo though I think wouldn't see it as soemthing great but a dishonurable act. Donnie has shown interest in human girls before now but always says it won't work. But what the heart wants the heart gets. And Donnie is always the one who the others turn to for advice, even PSlinter so it is right that he deserves it though I bet he was mega shy when Rose first stripped for him.

In my view, Don does deserve the girl, because not only is he the most mature, he is also the one that is most deserving. The others don't mix with April as much as Don does. And has shown amazing respect for her as well as risking his shell to rescue her.
I believe Don would start off bitter but as you said, thngs change.
