Accompanying end-of-comic post - The end of MCQThe date is 4/18/2021. I'm gonna copy/paste this post everywhere so - when it goes up on Tumblr and DA tomorrow it'll be 4/19 but the point is I'm writing this on the 18th. Exactly five years ago today, my much younger self sat down and doodled some very simple blue sketch drawings with the intent to make a quick, short, newspaper style comic strip. And I put it that way because my dream as a kid was to be a comic artist for newspapers, a dream that I quickly realized would fizzle as the digital age came into being. And I thought a short, segmented strip would be easy to manage and simple to do among my self-made career as a convention artist. These pages are the last in a five year journey, spanning a total of 875 numbered pages and side comics, five and soon to be six self published volumes of books, a coloring book, side stories, and countless hours of worldbuilding development and interactive experiences with people, other artists, and even some lifelong friends. Ever since I was a young teen checking Mookie's website for Dominic Deegan every weekday morning it was a personal goal of mine to finish a webcomic. Short or long, or whatever, just - FINISH a webcomic. Because thats the most difficult part, so many comics go - undone. Fizzle out. People take their hiatuses and breaks and never come back. And its not that its not understandable, passions die out a bit, its a huge dedication and responsibility and sometimes you need a break or its just not creatively possible. But I've always been one to try to finish what I start. There are projects that get scrapped or experimented with along the way. There are some ideas that get forgotten when you take on something this monumental. And there's no way to get through these things without some kind of morale or lasting support. I could....sit here and thank everyone I've met, friends I've had and lost, enemies that have become friends because of my journey just through making MCQ. There's inspirations I'm grateful for and people that I'm thrilled I've met and had some experiences with even if we don't speak anymore. And everyone whose read the comic, who I'm grateful for, just for enjoying something I made. And all my patrons and regular clients who have kept me housed and fed just because they wanted more MCQ. I'll never be able to properly express my gratitude for just LIKING something I made. But I wanna thank you anyway. Not for being there for me exactly but for taking this journey with me. This was a goal I was going to accomplish eventually anyway, for myself if nothing else. But I'm just absolutely tickled to death over just how many people have ENJOYED this. Left comments and shared things, dubbed or translated the comic for others, wrote fanfic or drew the boys doing some silly thing together, joined Patreon, bought a comic. I seriously can't get over this kind of support and I don't know if I ever will. It's still flabbergasting to me which is probably why I'm so bad at showing just how appreciative I actually am. And....I honestly hope that some of you will stick around for more. Worldview : Finch and Fondu will still be updating, Patrons and BMC on every other Friday, Tumblr and DA Saturdays. I'm gonna be taking a break from doing a comic schedule this INTENSE again, a good long break. The pandemic has been a huge shift in my business and I'm still adjusting - and I'll need time to re-evaluate what would be feasible for me to do. But once I do I'll hopefully be back with the Fresh comic or a few small comics for a bit. For now...I'm just happy to have made one of my biggest dreams come true. You guys just....made it alot better. So...thank you, again. I'll be around. :) Happy Anniversary MCQ....
