This started off as a sketch after a convo with Shado and a preview of something he's working on. And, I dunno. I guess I shouldn't question where my mind is taking me.But yes, that is Shado wearing Axen style clothing from Winter Bash. This is my last winter themed picture since it is already spring.
So yeah, just experimenting with painting and I guess this could be called a speed paint. I dunno, 3 hours? But yeah. Shado wearing owls...He looks far less menacing I think.

I'd definitely call 3 hours a "speed paint" for such a complex image. I'm still learning speed painting techniques and I guess it is faster than oil painting for sure, but I can spend a lot of time on one image. I think my last try at the technique took over 5 hours total.

You already know how to do it, you just don't think the right way. The best advice I can give is what I give myself, and that is to stop thinking so much in lines and think instead of mass and shapes.
They didn't have us draw fruit and crap in college for nothing.
