Description Born on August 6th, 1715, Louis was often inquisitive for knowledge, especially when it came to progressive ideas. He often intermingled with the children of the staff of the Palace at Versailles, alongside the children of other nobles. He was described as bright, handsome, intelligent, and brave. He went on a series of travels from 1725 to 1730, visiting many great kingdoms. He was raised in a loving home with his other siblings. He was often described as having inherited the genius of his father and the beauty of his mother, Louise Theresa Anne de Bourbon

(In fact, some historians have noted that Louis XVIII exhibited some physical femininity, and one account said that he often had a constant pout on his lips, an inheritance of sorts of the infamous Habsburg Jaw. Other accounts state that most of his life, Louis XVIII was known to have had 'feminine hips', with the signs of such hips occurring after his fourteenth birthday.  Historians debate whether Louis XVIII had klinefelter syndrome or Partial androgen insensitivity syndrome . Evidence suggests the latter condition, as Louis XVIII would have twelve children, whereas if he had the former syndrome, it would be really hard for him to have children.)

In 1730, his father abdicated and Louis became King of France as Louis XVIII, at just 15 years of age. His father stayed on as an advisor to him, and so he guided Louis XVIII to continue the progressive agenda that was started. In 1735, he made a decision that baffled many in the court, by marrying his aunt, Sofia Alexandra Habsburg. He was 20 while she was 16, yet the formed a close friendship surprisingly, even though they were married. They'd have twelve children in their lives, many of whom went on to have distinguishing careers and lives.

He maintained the positive growth that his father achieved and the common people were able to enjoy things that they never thought that they could enjoy during the reigns of the Bourbon Kings. The GDP of France was that of Britain and Spain during the years of the Habsburg Dynasty in France. But like all good things, there is an end. In 1750, Louis XVIII abdicated the throne in a surprise twist, installed the son of Louis XVI to the throne, who became Louis XIX, restoring the House of Bourbon to power.

Louis XVIII and his father would be forced to leave France in 1753 as Louis XIX tried to undo the work of the Habsburgs, though he mostly failed. Louis XVIII would watch on as the events of the French Revolution happened. In 1819, he was invited to return to France by Emperor Napoleon I, but he declined and died a year later in Spain. He was buried next to his parents in a splendid ceremony.

To date, Louis XVIII is one of two great Kings of France in the 18th Century, the other being his father. In Paris, two statues stand, that of the two Habsburg Louis', the greatest monarch's France ever had.
