Haha, I love birds too! My friends call me the "bird nerd," haha... I would love to have a Cockatoo some day, they're such cuddly birds. I just adopted an Indian Ringneck. She loves attention, but she's extremely hand shy and doesn't step-up yet.

I've known my Galah for 3 years but only owned her or a little over a week. I was always her favorite human and my friends who gave her to me are getting older(Like in their 80's) and couldn't give her enough attention. 3 years ago she could barely walk, was missing part of her beak and a ton of feathers. She was very scared and wouldn't eat either

She's so happy now though, especially since she's been with me and gets so much attention. Here's her photo [link] And that's funny your friends call you bird nerd XD My friends call me "the bird girl" because I'm crazy about birds lol I'll stop on the side of the road to watch a bird LOL And I have a vase in my room filled with feathers I've collected over the years from the wild, parrots, and buddies with hawks and falcons

That's so sweet of your friends to give her to you! Glad that she's doing better now, and it sounds like you're spoiling her. Looked at her photo...she's beautiful! That pink is so vibrant, and I've never seen a Galah in person. (Really want to now, lol) Do you know how old she is? I'll have to get a photo up of my Ringneck at some point.

Haha, bird nerds unite! I'm excited, for my Animal Behavior class we have to find a mockingbird and observe/record it's behavior for a while, along with mapping it's territory.
