yeah im still angry about this years after both characters featured died, what of it!

anyways! since graystripe being deputy is a load of bullshit-- we all know it is, he has no right to be deputy, he's no-loyalty clan traitor #1 and he never did anything to earn the position other than "be firestar's best friend" --may i present an alternative: longtail!

narratively, it makes a whole lot more sense than graystripe. the sheer narrative weight of this cat, who opposed firestar so vehemently for so long, growing into firestar's most trusted advisor? cmon erins what were you THINKING! graystripe doesnt even become leader and like. its not so hard for you to just take graystripe's actions and replace them with longtail. bramblestar shouldn't be leader anyways, but even if you were deadset on bramblestar, longtail being deputy could've gotten the exact same result.

longtail's a better candidate for deputy than any other thunderclan cat at that point in the series, both narratively and in canon character, and i simply think that its bullshit that whitestorm said "graystripe's your deputy now" when he was dying because A) thats not your decision whitestorm and B) theres literally nothing but nepotism in place for graystripe being deputy.
