Description Between the 4th and 3rd funnels was the Aft Grand Staircase. Unlike the more celebrated forward stairs, there is little if any photos of the aft staircase. This one shows a very rare view of the dome and foyer.

The Aft Grand Staircase extended from A-Deck to C-Deck and B-Deck served as a reception room for the Cafe Parisian and A La Carte Restaurant. C-Deck was the end of the stairs with two doors leading to the Barber's Shop on the left and Maids/Valet Dining Saloon on the right.

On A-Deck were two cabins--A-36 & A-37--that were placed on both opposite sides of the stairs.

(HINT: The wall that bulges inward with two windows on the left is Cabin A-36 to be exact.)

The aft grand staircase was torn apart as the Titanic broke up shortly before sinking. Much of the wood and other debris found floating after the sinking is thought to have come from the aft staircase. During the 1987 exploration on the Titanic wreck, a bronze cherub was found near the ruins where the aft grand staircase was on the wreck of the stern.

The bronze cherub never made much sense to me. I thought only the forward grand stairs had the cherub statue..

I kinda wonder if the Dome pattern is the same as the Forward one?

Hmm... It's somewhat smaller than the staircase between the first and second funnels. The pic is quite blurry too.

That's actually on the Olympic- the Olympic's staircases had squared off clocks whilst Titanic's had Honor and Glory Crowning Time on the fore and aft staircases. Just FYI

Actually, only the forward grand staircases had Honor & Glory Crowning Time. The aft ones didn't.

See this video? [link] It shows both Olympic's Forward and Aft staircases.

Exactly. Show me a 1920's photograph of the olympic's staircase, and I'll prove to you that its the same thing.

To me, the olympic and the Titanic are like the Twin towers. Both designed the same way, but with different features here and there.

Well what I meant by that is that on Titanic, the aft grand staircases didn't feature a clock. Olympic's was just the basic squared off whereas they highlighted Titanic's by adding "Honour and Glory Crowning Time" one of the very minute details that made them 99.9% identical. Titanic's aft staircases didn't feature Honour and Glory nor did they have the squared off clocks or clocks period from what I remember from playing Titanic: Adventure out of Time.

Yeah, I know. The Aft Grand staircase was barely ever mentioned. It was only used for access to the smoking room, restraunt, and all the cabins in that area.

I'm actually surprised that there were a few photographs of the dome, I wish there was at least one image showing the whole extent of this work of art.

I know right?

So far, I couldn't find ANY pictures of the dome itself with its magnificent chandelier.
