Description This is another gift for my very dear friend *Yuni

After the purple bendy unicorn, here comes the green one. ^-^

Hope you enjoy this one too. :3

I'm sorry about the flower. It was supposed to be a rose and it
looks more like a lettuce in fact. TT.TT Why am I unable to draw
a rose that looks like a rose ?

Ahh, it looks like there's more than one contortionist in the unicorn tribe after all! ;3 But certainly that's okay!! Having only one contortionist in the whole tribe would be boring and limiting O.o Plus, he has a different color and his horn is differently shaped, so that's okay XD

But anyway, ohhh myyy, such a beautiful position! *-* Almost makes me want to scream "there's nothing more beautiful than extreme contortion!!" ^o^ But that will sound crazy, haha XD Words are too bad to describe... But I seriously think so when seeing your drawings. You turn contortion into poetry, or poetry into contortion, or maybe contortion into music, or beautiful music into contortion, either way makes me want to bounce all over the room when seeing your drawings!! ^.^ Contortion should have a better word for itself, this word doesn't sound as good as "poetry" or "music", but the art is none-the-less beautiful *-*

And you do such beautiful work with the decorations, and it's so elegant how carefully you handle the symmetry but without simply copying, it looks much more artistic and comfortable to look at ^-^ The rose looks VERY beautiful here and the green drops on top are just lovely *-* Even only this frame alone I would already favorite! But it's also very beautiful how the frame works around the character, they're simply made for each other! :3 And together with this contortionist boy I want to favorite it 10 times more, but sadly it won't change anything ^.^

But really, I'm absolutely in love with this character and can't thank you enough for posting such a lovely work ^__^ <3

Well yes. There are more than one contortionist in the unicorn tribe. And there are more than one dancer, more than one jeweller, more than one sewer, backer, singer, priest, musician... There are many professions and in each there are more than one unicorn. They are sometimes five, sometimes ten, fifteen or even more. So the unicorn tribe is very diversified and not boring at all like that.

I am so happy you enjoy the pose so much ! I thought a lot of the position that could be nice with that frame, because I drew the frame before the character, so I had to find a pose that would fit the frame. And I came up with this and feel very very happy you like it ! <3

You can say it, there is nothing more beautiful than extreme contortion. I do think so. I love extreme contortion. I find it very beautiful, graceful, elegant. It makes me dream, makes me admirative. I'm glad I could draw this pose well, transcribe it well from my head to such a small piece of paper.

This makes me very very happy you see my art as poetry or music. I mean, my contortion artworks. This makes me happy to read this. And knowing you love my art so much makes me very very very happy ! <3 I am so happy to know you have such thoughts about my art ! It really makes me very very happy ! <3 Thank you so much Yuni ! <3

I love a lot art nouveau and love drawing and creating ornaments for my ACEO. So I am very happy to know you like it too. Oh and thank you so much for your so kind words about the lettuce - because to me it really looks like a lettuce and not a rose - it really makes me very happy to know you like it and the green drops too.

I always try to combine both the character and the frame, make them live together in harmony. It is not a frame to decorate, it is a set. The frame/ornament works with the character as the character work with the frame/ornament. I also love the symmetry in it and love working on very small details. I love work of preciseness, but you already know it.

That's me who can't thank you enough for loving this character and artwork that much ! <3 Thank you very much Yuni ! <3

You're very very welcome I am always very overjoyed every time when you draw poses similar to this one. I'm very happy that after drawing the frame you thought of this pose and not of any other, I'm so happy this is how your imagination worked here

Well, to be honest I never liked the word "extreme" and the word "contortion" and the combination of these words is twice as bad, I think they're bad words to describe beauty and elegance. Beauty cannot be "extreme" and elegance cannot be "contorted" or distorted, that sounds ridiculous. But the way you talk about it so sweetly makes me change my mind. I love how you openly and fearlessly say "I love extreme contortion", after you say it the phrase suddenly seemed beautiful to me and not that bad. That was a relief to read your opinion because the phrase "extreme contortion" always sounded horrible to me, but now it sounds okay.

In any case, this is such beautiful art that it's absolutely identical to poetry and music. Just seeing this artwork and many of your other artworks makes me think of music and poetry every time, there is a flow in them that is of the very same nature

So late comment T.T So sorry about that. I'm so slow. So very slow. -.-

Your comment really makes me happy and I always feel very glad to read them ! :3 I just loved doing this illustration, first because it was small, and doing the character after the frame, thinking of what could be the best pose that could work very well with the frame is something I love to do. And very happy to know you enjoyed this way I have to work.

Well, I'm not afraid of words and use them as I want. I know I sometimes don't use the best words or I use several words to say something that could have been said in only one, but I don't really care. ^-^ I just try to express myself with the things I know and if I want to use the words "extreme contortion", I simply do it.

The first time I read "extreme contortion", I thought that was negative, but then I realized it was negative only if I wanted it to be negative.

This makes me glad to know you changed your mind about that after reading what I've written. :3 I love very much extreme contortion and feel very very happy to be able to draw it and happier to see your artworks about it. And using these words is not a problem. They are only words after all. ^-^

Your last sentences make me really happy and made me smile. :'3 Thank you so much for such very sweet words about my art. <3

So sorry, I'm also very late to reply. I took some time to feel "pessimistic" these days, but today I'm finally feeling fine again! Yay! :3

"The first time I read "extreme contortion", I thought that was negative, but then I realized it was negative only if I wanted it to be negative."

Oh, I love how you said it! :3 I think you just said one of these phrases that could become a citation, something Oscar Wilde would say. Indeed, "extreme contortion" does only sound bad if you want it to sound bad, but in reality they're just two words. By saying "extreme contortion" we can instantly imagine what it means, and it means nothing bad, it simply means a very high skill at bending of one's body. So the words may not sound the best way possible, but they do make us imagine exactly what we need.

You made me think of a really interesting idea here indeed: we really should look more at what the words make us imagine, instead of looking at the words themselves. Then it doesn't matter what words to use, if they make us imagine exactly what we need, then why not! ^.^ And this wisdom is really great and can be applied to many things, not just contortion. There are many words that themselves sound negative but there's nothing negative in the form that they make us imagine. For example, I dunno... pornography, God, faggots, etc. The words themselves have a bitter taste, but the forms they refer to are not something negative at all! ^-^

Now after thinking this, it seems funny to me that people are so obsessed with words. People like some words and don't like other words, but both of these words mean the same thing! Well, on the other hand, words also express additional emotions, some words may express respect and some words may express an insult. In that sense, I meant that "extreme contortion" sounds kind of like saying "faggot", we're still talking about the same thing, but by saying "faggot" we also express an insult to this form of sexuality. The word "contortion" also contains a bit of an insult to the human body's flexibility. But oh well, I'm going in circles! ^.^ Still I love much better this idea to focus on the meanings and not on the words themselves! I think this is a great idea!!
