Description
English:
The Fabric World Fair – FWF – occurs once per year. It is a huge place where merchants, craftsmen
and professionals gather from all around the world to buy, sell and see all kind of precious, expensive
and fine fabrics. There are even artisans who sell clothes they sewed and designed themselves.
Clothes designers meet there too. The FWF is not really open to public. Only professionals and rich
people can hope to visit this worldwide fair. (It looks like the World fair for watches and jewelery – in
Basel in Switzerland - for people who would know how it looks like)
There are beautifully decorated and huge stands on which clothes and fabrics are presented. There is
even a catwalk on which models parade wearing clothes of different brands to present them at certain
hours of the day. The FWF is open for five days to professionals and only two days to the public who
will have to pay an expensive price just to have the authorization to come in. Buying things would be
way too expensive to the public so they can't really afford anything in the fair. But some are pleased to
just visit the place and see all kind of precious clothes and fabrics. And the models themselves who
represent brands are always a pleasure for the eyes.
Adonis' uncle, Jim, is a well-known photographer. He's invited every year at the FWF to take shoots of
the event and is very well paid for that job. He takes photos of models, stands, merchants, clothes
presented to the fair and this year, he had the chance to photograph his dear nephew Adonis, who
represents a Japanese brand of very precious fabric. This is a silky blue fabric with sewed flower patterns
designed and made by the most talented Japanese fashion designers. The blue pigments that are in the
fabric are much more than just expensive and really difficult to obtain. That's why the fabric itself costs
that much. The Japanese artisan, who is the author of this rare fabric, asked in person to Adonis if he
could represent his creations. Since Adonis is a very handsome, slender and smart man, he would be the
perfect human being on Earth to present these so expensive and precious clothes.
At first Adonis didn't really know if that would be a good idea since he is not always at ease with people
and photographers. But Jim told him that could be his chance to be known and make a name in this rich
and special world. So he finally accepted and was more than welcome to give a positive answer to the
Japanese man. He spent a really nice week there and uncle Jim presented him to influential people who
may need Adonis for future fairs or photo shootings.
So that's the way Adonis put a step in this world and opened to a new horizon he wouldn't have
suspected to be something that nice.
This is a gift for my dear friend yuni ! ♥

Would you believe that its taken me almost a year to remember to put this in my Favorites? Am I getting old? One request. I want to post a tribute to you, Aldric, using a black & white version of this Adonis Aho image. This will ONLY be done IF you permit me, of course. I've already posted tributes to our dear Yuni Master and Fyra Nuanser. But the decision must be yours, mon ami. Let me know. My best regards, WWL

Oh, this makes me SO happy, Aldric. I want to post tributes to all my DA friends and of course to you, mon ami. This is not just 'bon, mais tres bon'!! Will send Adonis Aho to my friend, who is also French-American, who can convert it to B & W for the tribute itself. Hopefully you will find my tribute version 'bien aussi'? No need to apologise for being late. Sometimes Mr. Wasp Waist Lover is not so fast these days! My best WWL

This portrayal of the character Adonis is well done and shows off the small waist rather well. Yes, there is a definite resemblance to the 'wasp boys by Yuni here but your digital painting is much brighter in scale, without the dark shading that Yuni often uses. Yuni & I have exchanged many messages about his sundry tiny waist characters over the past few years. Maybe this makes your portrayal more Japanese in flavour? You seem to be a talented artist, Aldric. Are you aware of the origins of the name Aldric? My best. WWL

OMG why didn't my DA android app didn't notice me for that comment??? Geez. Sorry for such a late reply.
Yuni and I are friends since... it's been many years now, we stopped counting. ^^ Anywho, thanks a lot for the comment about this illustration, that's becoming a bit old by now (my illustration I mean). It's somehow funny and feels nostalgic to look at it. It makes me very happy you like this drawing and even took time to write such a long comment. Thanks a lot!
My world and characters are kinda all happy and live in a very utopian world. Yuni's OCs and world have dark pasts, histories, maybe that brings more depth to the characters and entire world. My OCs are... not less interesting I think, but they don't have this dark past nor sad history that Yuni brings into his stories. My own world is a place I'd like to live. It's very utopian in comparison to our planet, Earth. But that's the point. The Earth is already so very rotten and gloomy that I don't wanna recreate i. It already exists. So why bothering with such a sad planet? I preferred to create my own and add everything I like in it. But now I'm babbling too much about it cause I feel passionate and then I can't stop talking about what passionates me. X3 Sorry about that. ^.^'
And about what you say in your comment about that Japanese "flavor" in my drawing, yeah, maybe. Specially in this illustration. :3
And yup! Aldric is an old French name that means "noble and powerful". Not sure I am noble and powerful though ^.^' I'm Aldric at least, that's already something I guess. ^^
Thanks a lot more again for your lovely comment. It was a pleasure to read. And again, sorry for the time it took me to reply. ^.^'

No need to apologise, Aldric. My replies are often delayed, too. Glad you and Yuni have been friends for some time. It always helps to have artistic partners in the DA world. Happily, there do not seem to be too many 'trolls' cruising Deviantart. You get some very interesting feedback on DA, unlike FLICKR, for instance.
Its interesting that you remark of the duality of the Yuniverse, Aldric, because I've long held that view as well. Yes, your characters and artwork might brighter, perhaps happier, as well. Yuni can be 'dark' sometimes, but I think he likes to follow a certain old school of European painting of several hundred years ago, called the Tenebrists. They painted all their figures emerging out of deep shadows, to lend greater depth to the character, to make them mysterious but also more solid. The Italian artist Caravaggio really started this back in the 17th century.
You make a very good point about the Earth being 'dark & gloomy' because it has become that way. SO many negative ideas and energies going around. Yes, I'm glad that you seek to offset the darkness with a brighter, more positive approach. Although my DA page deals with fetish, I try to make the stories positive, with few darker traits. I will try to visit your page more often; it is not easy viewing things when one has cataracts. But keep us the interesting artwork! My best, WWL

Still, I apologize cause my replies are sooooo late... -___-
But thanks for telling m not to apologize. ^.^
Yeah, of course my own artworks can be dark, but my characters indeed always tend to be happy and live in a non violent world. Some of my works are dark and gory only when I need to express very strong and painful feelings. Otherwise I rarely create characters that are sad, depressed, or to whom bad things happen. When my art is dark, it's because I'm not feeling well, having difficulties in life, overcoming tragic events, stuff like that. But it doesn't make me happy to draw characters in pain. So I just don't. ^-^ There is too much pain in this world to create more in art. My opinion here.
I know right. The Earth is a very negative and dark place to be, but we can make it brighter. With simple things sometimes. So if I can make it a bit better and brighter with my art, I do it. :3 Of course it's not always black or white, so that's why there's still a bit of darkness in my world, but it's not a negative darkness. It's a feeling that will nourish the anger for example, but in a positive way. Anger is not a positive feeling, but you can make it positive. You can use anger to make powerful art, for example. Some people use anger in sports, or in singing, and can do incredible performances thanks to that anger that they turned into something positive. (I use that when I sing, and it gives to my voice a very powerful force.)
Anyway, thank you so much for all your comments! It's very pleasant talking with you and a real pleasure to write to you! :3 I feel very happy you like my art and I hope you'll enjoy looking at more of it in the future! :3

You know, Aldric, that your thoughts here are not only comforting but really deserve to be put into an essay. There is indeed a need for good & decent thoughts to cancel out or wash out the bad ones. You have a rare talent for making people feel better about themselves. Yes, transforming what are usually held to be negative feelings into positive results is really a goal that ALL DA members and in fact ALL people everywhere should aim for! Had no idea you were a singer. Have you written any songs? Maybe you should have a troubadour character in your gallery. My best, WWL

It didn't even surprise me that of all countries the Japanese brand wanted Adonis so much to represent their fashion because Japan's creative people I think always have a good eye for various exotic things, while European people mostly either repeat the already well-known patterns or they're moving very slowly to new fashions because they're always super afraid of everything. Japan is probably the only country in the world that is so open to experiment with something that would be shocking to the rest of the world, such as having a boy like Adonis, who has an extremely thin waist, as their main model. That makes a lot of sense to me that it would happen and I guess it might even explode like a bomb in Japan and many people would start experimenting with small waists. In fact, when I was trying to find some real life pictures of people who liked waist cinching, the majority of pictures for some reason already depicted Japanese girls, I mean when I searched for tight belts, not corsets. There's also a lot of corset pictures with European girls but I'm not talking about corsets here, but only about belts in particular. Somehow it fits very much with the Japanese style of fetishes, such as shibari, the Japanese fetish for tying the human body with tight ropes of all kinds of beautiful designs. Adonis also has a long black hair and with some makeup he'd look very oriental and just perfect for representing a Japanese brand ^.^
This is a very beautiful story and I enjoyed so much reading it! It sure made me think ahead into the future and fantasize about all kinds of fashion shows that Adonis could take a part in. That would be really interesting to see him in some sort of really charming and fashionable clothes, showing beautifully his well trained waist! :3 So I think you so much for sharing this wonderful picture and the story! Oh! By the way, I forgot to say anything about the picture itself! ^.^ I really admire a lot his slender legs that seem to me like they were slightly oiled to make them look more beautiful, and I also really love the design of the waist cincher that buries so deeply under his ribcage! *o* I always loved the feeling of softness under the ribcage, just when it ends and the belly begins, somehow I always had a little bit of fetish for that area because it pleases me to think of some object buried very deep under the ribcage, so that area attracts me very much and I really love how you draw it in all of your illustraions of waist cinching! It is really beautiful to my eyes! ^o^ I really love this picture so much, and I also love very much the textures that you found for it, they all fit the picture very well! ^-^ <3

I thought it was the best country to ask Adonis to be the model for the brand. Japan has so many original and unsuspected ideas that it was the best of all countries for my story. ^-^ And yes, as you said well, I think too that Japanese people are very original in what they create while Europeans in general get stuck with already existing things and don't really create anything new. :/ And I love so much Japanese art and clothes that I really wanted Adonis to wear something Japanese. I thought about a kimono first but then wanted his soft and slender body and legs and chest to be visible. X3
Yes, Japan is somehow the best country for cinching or "unusual" things like that. And yes, not talking about corsets here but belts. I think the same. That Japan can really be open to many things that Europeans or other countries would find odd, weird or even disgusting sometimes. And because they are not used to it they don't like it and say that Japan is a weird country. Of course there are weird things in Japan, but everywhere in the world there are many weird things. But I think Japan is one of the only country in the world that has such new and so original ideas about so many things. Personally I like it a lot ! even if it's so "weird" sometimes.
I'm really happy you liked the story by the way ! :'3 I would like to draw another illustration like this one where Adonis would wear a kimono this time, but a kimono that would cinched his waist too. ^.^ I think that can really be pretty on him ! I also wanted to draw him with Japanese sexy lingerie and an embarrassed face. XD
Aww I'm so happy you like his legs ! *o* And yes, his body is a bit oiled. I tried to make it sexier with his oiled body. Yay ! So glad you liked the way I did the ribcage ! *w* I like when it's going deep like this, well, when you can see well the ribcage. Also like a lot when the hipbones are visible too. I don't know why but I like it.
;3; It really makes me super happy you like this illustration that much ! ♥ thank you so much Yuni for loving it and for commenting it. I was really happy to draw this for you and enjoyed a lot writing the story too. Even happier now to know you liked it that much ! ♥
And yes, I tried to find something Japanese for the textures. ^w^ Glad you like it.
