Description Yay for bothering with landscapes again but I can't take my fingers off the tablet pen and the will to practice. x)
This time, I decided to take myself more time for a landscape painting before I try myself out with speedpaintings again. I wanted to create something decent and more visible.

Myre is approaching a city that has the one and very last relict of a time before the landscapes have turned dry and meager. This is the very last living and biggest tree in their world. I'm not talking about a small tree on top of a rock,. This thing is frigging huge and that was what I was trying to achieve with this painting. Embedded in a mountainy landscape, many species have settled there and started moving, creating a monstrous city which has been dug into the deep.

The tree and the citicens live off each other and it shall last for a very long time.

I re-painted this image: [link]

and added the most important element from here: [link]

I'm a little more pleased about my landscape skills. I'm optimistic about it. Thanks so much for looking by! <3
Photoshop CS2, 11 hours nonstop (yeah I'm crazy)

I absolutely love every single aspect of this, though I thought you could do a bit more with the tree.

The perspective makes it look awesome, but maybe you could've added some more branches?

And 11 hours non-stop is amazing. If I could figure out how to do it I would vote for you to get a DailyDeviation on this. (I honestly have no idea how they pick recievers of the DD)

Fantastic work, although I'm pretty sure 11 hours straight of work is not very good for you. >.<

Love the aerial perspective for depth, and I love the use of a foreground silhouette, with slight shadows of mountains in the background. Some character parallels, perhaps.

Also, the focus point is very intriguing...definitely makes me think of a scene from a book or a film because of the openness and potential for background story. Great work!

I really like the piece, and the idea behind it, but most everyone's already said the sort of things I would, and I hate being repetitive. It's good, I'll leave it at that.

Also, I can't restrain myself from making the comment, which may or may not make any sense to you. "That tree is far away"

either way it adds sort've a focus point I suppose. Your use of light is also astounding.
