Description One night, I sent a note to someone here in DA asking her to send me params of her choice so that I will tweak them to create my image number 200. I got no reply, and I felt so bad for asking. I didn't dare to ask this person in particular hadn't I had felt that she was one of my closest friends in DA. I thought at that time that asking for params isn't a big deal taken into consideration that I know that most of her images are tweaks of others' params. That was the first and last time I ask for params.
In the last week, we have noticed the upload of so many beautiful images under the Round Robin project organized as far as I know by our friend Debs (DWALKER1047) [link] In my opinion, this project is one of the best things that has ever happened for the fractal community in DA. I am not aware of the details of this project, but I know that it is based on the idea of cooperation and collaboration among fractal artists. Also, this project promotes the idea of sharing params with others. Imagine the beauty of this project when a small group of people from different parts of the world work together on an image, and then they share their work with the rest of the community members.
Among others, I have always been fascinated by the floral images of Chris Martin (Velvet-Glove) and the abstract images of Kirsty (fractek). I have always been curious of how they create their fabulous images. Without the Round Robin project, my curiosity will linger for so long. I have to admit that I have learned so much from the params that the teams of the Round Robin project have produced. I have copied the params of seven images created by Chris and Kirsty's groups, and I am planning to squeeze each of these images till the last drop 
Now, I am so glad that params from great fractalists are all over the place, and these params offer the best opportunity for all those who want to learn, especially newbies. These params are free, and you can get them without giving anyone a chance to make you feel bad, but all what you need to do is to acknowledge those who have devoted their time to produce the params and give them the credits they deserve. I am very positive that they are not asking for more than that.

This image is a tweak of the second image created by the Round Robin Team 03. [link]
Sincere thanks go to the team members, Velvet-Glove and Kabuchan, the organizer Debs, and for all those who have taken part in this project.

I am so glad that you found the parameters useful, and I am happy to share with you and anyone who may ask. I am so very sorry that you had an experience like that. Rest assured, there are many people on dA that would share parameters with you.

And it is an excellent fractal, way better than anything I did. Must have used Velvet-Glove's ...

I haven't had much time lately to participate in the Round Robin, but you can have the params to any of my images that you want. Just send me a note.

i didnt join the first 2 round robins because i felt i wasnt skilled to work on others' parameters ... then fiery-fire (that witch) pressured me to join round robin 3, and i am so happy i did!!
it is indeed a great project .. kudos to Deb for thinking it, and a beautiful way to make us more "community".
now i cant wait for the next one, and if you dont join it i know a number of people who will spank you

Tweaking others' params is not an easy job, but it is an excellent learning experience, especially if the params are produced by experienced fractalists. hehe I am goning to show the params of all my works either the ones I create or the ones I tweak... So does that mean I am in?

evilpj In reply to aleisa [2009-03-28 01:59:14 +0000 UTC]

lol no ... you ll have to wait till next round robin ... it s not just about posting params, you have to tweak the image that s assigned to your team, then tweak your teammate images, and again tweak the images your teammate made by tweaking yours .. fun and very challenging

Velvet--Glove [2009-03-27 00:33:12 +0000 UTC]

Hi Aleisa, it's so good to see you having a go with my parameter tweaks and hopefully learning a trick or two along the way.

I love the flexibility and new capabilities of UF5 and use them all the time now but I get the impression that few artists on DA (if any?) share my enthusiasm. It feels like I am on a lonely journey in this regard but I decided I should try and have a go with the RR and attempt to demonstrate a few possibilities and new techniques for others like yourself to pick apart and play with. I was afraid that people might just back off, worried by new stuff they didn't understand - I won't pretend that it's easy to learn but hopefully the parameters will help shed some light, however small, on how I do things now.

Anyway, it's great to see someone outside my RR team getting their hands dirty and playing with these params, keep it up... and have fun!

Thank you so much Chris for this nice comment. I assure you are not alone in this journey, and I am having fun with it. It is the problem of those who back off, and I really appreciate the fact that you took part in this effort. Though small, shedding light on how you do things will be good enough. You can't spoon feed people, but it is enough to show them how to prepare their own food. You even have no obligation to do so, but you do it out of goodness. It is something I personally highly appreciate. Thank you again for stopping by and giving my image a look (Q: Can I call it my image? )

Velvet--Glove In reply to aleisa [2009-03-27 23:55:54 +0000 UTC]

Yes, no problem. You gave due credit for the origins of this image here, which was the proper thing to do, but a lot of it is obviously your own work. Anything I contributed to the RR was for intended for this sort of use.

Hi Aleisa ....omg i was just reading your little story that sounds sooo bad if somebody is your friend and they said 'No' ...i mean at this point when Round Robin is happening they gotta be blushing

Well I had to ask for param donations and people like Jimmie and Chris and Satu - just all joined in and gave their ideas and efforts soo every body else could have fun. That definately lights up the atmosphere and creates great opportunity to learn and hey tweaking 'velvet--glove' is way cool
Im very glad you joinned in and I will be making a param packs with big sign RR3 on them for all the community to enjoy !!! The packs are a symbolic gesture ...that we all can share , play together and have fun !!!!
Thank you for being such a great part of RR's

Jimmie donated his params for this - my team is using his barnsley (im with fractek) and I think velvet--glove and Kabu are tweaking one more set of Jimmies as well.
All his starter params will be in community pack
