Description
This image is an experiment I did with Pixar's prman renderer. It represents fractal vegetable Romanesco Broccoli (Brassica oleracea). The flower is composed of spirally arranged segments which are identical copies of the whole flower. The copying process continues infinitely as a 3D fractal form. The mathematical beauty and simplicity of this flower never stops to amaze me.More about the technique here:

When did you do this? I ask because there is an ad for SCAD in the Dec. 2009 issue of Computer Graphics World that has this same image in anaglyphic 3D. Are you saying that the image is a fake? That it isn't a real Romanesco Broccoli?

Never mind, I just looked over to the little line of credits along the side of the image and there is your name. Very cool that CGW used your image. Still, the question stands - is this a fake Broccoli image or a collage of a real one?
