Description A picture of the armshield I made <3
I've always loves altair's armshield, and when I found a aluminium plate I knew exaclty what to do with it.
God, it took HOURS to carve out the overal shape... the bending was easy enough, aluminium isn't that 'tough' to bend. So yea, after that I drew the lines on and colored them ( I was planning on glueing something on it to add some reliΓ«f but nothing sticked to it D= ) and to end I somehow managed to attach the leather to attach the whole thing to my arm. ( I need to re-do the leather part... =/ )

Picture taken with my cellphone ( I LOVE that thing )
Yes, that is my floor. and my carpet. very well spotted!

Hope you like it!

Note: that thing in the upper corner is my logo. Don't dare to cut it off the picture or copy it!

there is a special category under artisan crafts for jewelry and costume kind of things. You might think about switching categories.

I know.
The thing is I switched it from there, as it's not a jewel nor actual part of a costume. It's more like an assembeled...decoration.

nice work, there are a few ways to attach stuff to mental.
- scratch the surfaces you want with sandpaper or something sharp then use a glue for metal, like epoxy. but be careful to to sand down areas you don't want to glue stuff to, its a pain to get mental smooth again.

-drill holes into the mental where the stuff will go to weave and knot underneath the mental to tie the objects on the mental. you can even use really small drill bits and just sew the stuff on though the holes. just make sure to dent the areas you are drilling first so the drill doesn't slide and scratch the mental.

anyway have fun costume making, I wish I had the time to make costumes but I usually have to stick to things that can be wore in all the time.

Was this a costume for a convention? I used to cosplay. No money now, though.

1st: Costume's still not finished...
I have Alty's vambrace, Ezio's cape, a somewhat improvised sword + belt and I'm still trying to figure out how to make an actual outfit

2nd: There are no conventions out here (for as far as I know) So the main purpose was scaring people on the streets during carnaval. so funny.
I would cosplay on a convention though, if I could. Sounds like SO MUCH fun!

?: No money for convention or for costume? (impolite question, I know, but the makings of my 'costume' didn't cost me a thing)

Oooh, that sounds like just as much fun. Carnaval! I've gone to a few conventions, but only dressed up at two of them. It's so much fun

No money for both, actually. My friend keeps threatening to give me a costume for this guy [link] so I'll go with her to an anime convention next year, but I probably won't be able to afford tickets even then... besides, that character is scary. Horrible little rich blond child with unresolved psychological issues... violent and oversexed for his age... uh, actually he's pretty awesome. Don't know if I'd want to be seen dressed as him, though. He wears hot pants

Most fun I ever had was when I passed 2 cops.
I was wearing every piece of the costume I had -including my 'realistic' wooden sword- + improvised ezio-belt ( which got torn to shreds by the rain ) and a classic venetian mask. Fully armed assassin, standing right in front of them... so they're staring, scaring me halfway to death (carrying any kind of weapon can get you to places you don't want to go ). And then they say: "Nice mask."

Such a pity (advantage of living with your parents and being able to use old scraps of everything )
Hey, be silly, just fricking do it. I'd do it... with or without the hotpants *smirk*

Well, it was just wooden... but it's still a frickin' hilarious story The power of good cosplay! Besides, I'm sure they don't see a fully costumed assassin every day

Hey, I still live with my parents. One of them wouldn't be too keen on giving me money to go to an anime convention, though. He doesn't like me watching it/reading manga.
I'm a bit loath to have people think I'm a creepy fangirl of his, though...
... ah, who am I kidding? I'm totally doing it. Someday. Maybe just not next year

Speaking of fully costumed assassins, I'm thinking of making a few just for fun ( and showing off ) should I?
I'll be looking like such a showoff, standing in front of my mirror with my fricking phone ( best damn camera I gotz )

Just do it no thinking, just go. Someday.

You totally should! I would fangirl no matter what quality the pictures were, because I love cosplay pictures.

I overthink everything. It's a failing.

Pictures taken! ( Am I fast or what ) Now I just need to sort out the decent ones
I couldn't find a few things though *failface* like the knife... damn =/

Overthinking is something I do a LOT. (>.<)

That's very awesome, but It's not called an 'armshield.' It's either called a "vambrace," or "bracer."
