REBLOG HERE: [link]

Ok, the story of this artwork is pretty strange. It had to be a sort of "reverse shot" of Welcome Home [link] . In fact, it has turned into a sort of sequel, because compared to the previous drawing Sherlock has no longer suitcases in hand. I know, the scene is quite melodramatic, but I was in a sentimental mood. The title is a line taken from Welcome Home by Radical Face, a song I rediscovered after finishing my previous artwork (no, the title wasn't inspired by the song). The lyrics concern a father and a son, but I think they can be applied very well to two friends. Really hope you like it!

And one last thing: my commissions are finally open again! Feel free to ask!

Thank you, my dear. It's always a pleasure to read such wonderful critiques, it's really too kind of you. The only things I had in mind while drawing were: fragility and relief.

oh my godness i need a mnuet if i thought the last one was good then this is by far the best im blown out of the water. everything is making me have feels and i just bravo many applauses to you.

i love the shading the dusty feel to it and of curse the emotion i can feel rolling off the page

sherlock looks like he has been through alot and is finaly at peace being back with john.

my only critisim is that sherlocks hand on johns back loks a tad too big but that could be because of the color over tones and position and angle but yes darling this is simply brillant and im adding it to my favorite right now good job

This work of art is so, so quiet - and yet, very powerful and strong. You manage to provide so many feelings, that I can't even hardly describe what I feel about it. So, congratulations. It's a piece of young and beautiful art.

Dear Alessia:

This is Indy.  Greetings from Canada!!! I  hope this finds you and yours well.

This is plucking at my heartstrings even as we speak. The last time he was this emotional, he was St. Bart's roof. In a lot of ways, he is just like a kid--he has temper tantrums, he sulks, he pouts.  He misbehaves and never does what John tells him.  Your piece shows the raw open emotions that tie these two together. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle knew exactly what he was doing when he first created these two back in 1854.

This, with your permission, is going to my faves gallery for this is a very well thought out piece, and a piece that shows how two human beings can feel towards each other.

Congratulations!!!!

                                                                                         Believing in Sherlock Holmes always,

                                                                                        Indy.

I love the emotion in this picture. You can almost feel how tired and relieved Sherlock is from the way he leans on John's shoulder and the expression on his face. It's sort of a weird thing to notice, I guess, but the small highlight you put in the middle of Sherlock's waterline really adds to the expression. It makes it look as if he's on the verge of crying. I also like the positions of the hands, especially the one Sherlock has on John's chest. The poses overall are quite original and it's nice to see a hugging scene that differs from the standard hug.

I also wanted to let you know that I featured your lovely art over at my new blog. I hope you don't mind, but if you do want me to remove it, I will do so immediately. You can view the post here: ayameasuka.blogspot.com/2013/1…

Dear Alessia:

This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

You almost have me in  tears with this one for this is so sweet!!! Your colouring, the tears in Sherlock's eyes and the way John is holding him--it all works. I a lot of ways, Sherlock is like an overgrown child and, I think in a lot of ways, he's making up for it for I don't think our detective really had a childhood.  If this doesn't portray the power of friendship, I don't know what does.

This is going in my faves gallery, and you're going on my watch list!!! Keep up the good work, kiddo--I can't wait to see the rest of your gallery!!!

                                                                                            Believing in Sherlock Holmes always,

                                                                                            Indy.

It's just amazing and you conveyed his emotions wonderfully. Too many people fall into the trap of seeing Sherlock as emotionless simply because that's how he chooses to portray himself. I love when artists can capture his nuances in a totally in-character way. SO lovely
