The attention the detail is fantastic. You really captured the rundown and somber nature of what you were trying to convey. The pitch black of the shadows as opposed to an actual shadow is genius. However, there are certain things that could be added, such as a faded yellow face on the wall to show that this was in fact his home, and now is not. However, it is not necessary, as the details themselves send the message.

This is a very good piece overall. The mood is set perfectly and you used the (for lack of a better description) comic style very effectively. My praises.

Thank you very much, dear Jay. I'm very happy you like this piece. You're absolutely right when you say that I could added the yellow smiley on the wall, but I wanted to keep somehow a gloomy mood and I thought the happy face would be out of tune with the whole desolate melancholy of the room.

I'm not expert with this comic style, but I really hope to improve my skill with the practise!

i like the black and white version more... (though this is good too) i only think that, to me, the black and white conveys a feeling of being lost and slightly out of place better than the colured version. the colouring style reminds me a lot of a comic panel.

Oh wow!
A very interesting style you used here. <3 It looked already ... comic-like (?) in only black and white but I think I like it even more coloured. The whole light in the picture looks even better here, the soft that shines through the window onto the carpet, wow! Everything looks much softer here, I think this adds a lot to the atmosphere. Sad, but beautiful at the same time. Just not so hard anymore. (: And I don't know if that's only me but I think the colours are making it easier to notice all these wonderful details here, the shabby carpet, the pieces of paper everywhere...

God, and this is making me sad all over again... Without Sherlock this isn't his home anymore, there are only memories

My friend, every comment of yours is a new joy for me!

Yes, I agree with you: I preferred to colour the b&w version to highlight the details and to mitigate the despair. Happy you like this final result!

It seems I was wrong in assuming that colouring it would detract from the essence of the picture. It looks just as wonderful as the black and white!
