Do you ever do sharp images? Like all of your drawings have the unfocused blur to them and I know that's how you paint and it's one of the reasons I started following you. I love it. But I was just curious if you ever draw the image clear and sharp or is that intimidating? I always want to take your photos and draw over sharpening them out XD And I'm like Tyler, no. Let him do his art! lol. They're beautiful though. This one's probably one of my favorites. Love the character.

That's a good question and thank you for the compliments!
A lot of it comes down to creating a sense of realistic vision, which partly involves controlling the hard and soft edges of a piece. It's something I still experiment with as it's definitely something I still haven't got a grasp on. I will be releasing a Youtube video tomorrow explaining why it's important, but the long story short is that our sight is a lot blurrier than you would think, even at 20/20 vision. The reason why is we tend to soften anything we aren't focusing on and sharpening areas which are important.
Sharper images are, quite frankly, easier because there's no consideration of where to create soft and hard areas. When everything is sharp, it unifies the piece automatically but not without the drawback of creating a less-than-realistic vision. Not that it's the wrong approach though it's not something I strive in my work and those who incorporate realism into their work.
I do sharp images from time to time but it's only if I do cartooning, which naturally are completely sharp. Otherwise, I create implied blurs in an attempt to create realism (trying to at least) and also doubles down as a way to create an aura in my work.
