Description Yeah my first mecha like MOC xD
I got inspired by another MOCer on this site and I had to try it out to build one by myself xD
His name KOZN (=Keosin) is intended to be a pun on Kerosin, due to his plane like look ^^
I don't really know anything about mecha MOCs so could anyone who reads this give me some tutoring xD

The legs would really help ^^"
They are one of my main problems. I'm always good with bodys and heads, but I lack on the other parts. For the hands, I already identified the techniques you used on your MOCs, I just didn't wanted to copy you, especially the hands on your stealth hunter are quite unique! I haven't seen that technique yet, but it looks really good in proportions.
So, it would me nice if you could give me some help on the constructing of legs

The problem with the legs is that they are thin, but there is lack of movement because of the weight.

Still, I'm not uploading for a couple of days. I'm really busy with important stuff.

Nin-jueTheKirin [2011-03-07 17:38:59 +0000 UTC]

the colors are alright, (personally i'm not a fan of white + green, maybe it's the addition of trans yellow/green...)
maybe add some neutral colors in it (i.e. grey, bley, etc.)

anywho...
the midsection has some great shaping to it
and some interesting parts usage for the chest cavity

while the legs look nice, it looks like you skimped out on the arms...

i'm not going to say anything else on the "hands"...
feet: passable by my book (it can stand)

overall, it's a great first moc!
i know i'm a little tough, but that's how you learn...

No no, you're totally right with what you say
The hands are really anything but good xD I wanted the arms to be thin, but they look bad compared to the whole other details ... Just out of interest; do you take your Mechs apart after they are finiched in order to reuse the parts or do you keep them as they are? I normaly keep my bionicle MOCs as they are, but I just don't have that much normal lego parts which I could use for mechs xD
Oh, and thanks for your competend comment of course ^^

I really didn't know what to expect from you when you said you were gonna do a system Mech. This is pretty good, but sadly this is typical of the stuff I've seen in system Mechs. Its common to see "omg that's awesome" in system. So many people do so many things with system that awesome is dime a dozen. But for a first this is really good. I see you've also got a healthy supply of regular lego to. Hmmmmmm I may just have to clean up the bionicles and dump out the system parts and see what I can whip up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Alex-Darkrai In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-06 19:46:00 +0000 UTC]

I tried to make a 'regular' system mech xD
I could have been more creative with structure, but because I have no experience with them I wanted to try something simple

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Alex-Darkrai [2011-03-06 22:33:54 +0000 UTC]

no no no. You misunderstand. You were really creative with the structure and you did a great job. I'm saying that as a MOC all on its own its really good, really impressive. But because a lot of people do Mechs in fact Mechs are so overdone that this otherwise great MOC is dime a dozen.

Yeah.
Its alright. You do pretty well to write in English. Do you write it better than you can speak it or is it the other way around?
Yes, but still they're everywhere.

Ah I see. Well then its good that we write to each other. You could at last talk to me a bit in my language. I just know how to say hello in german. ^^.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Alex-Darkrai In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-07 19:37:01 +0000 UTC]

Hey, out of interest; how does german language sound to you? I heard that foreigners think our language sounds a bit hard and rude
And something else, do you know anything popular coming from our country? Like bands, films or something else?
Man, it's interesting to talk about german culture with some from another country xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Alex-Darkrai [2011-03-07 20:29:08 +0000 UTC]

It does. Yes. Its weird to speak compared to other languages. Germans speak with....gusto, really strong and stern. In all honesty If I had to pick a language to learn German would be pretty low on my list. I want to learn italian though. I love hearing it and speaking what little I know.

I know of the band Rammstein. They're really popular over here. Tokio Hotel is another band that has had some international success over here. Being mostly into music bands and music would be what I know of most. I'm sure there's some famous films from german and other stuff but I don't know. There's a style of music called House music that I think is from germany. BUt you're also famous for your beer. I'd love to try many german beers. It is really fun talking about culture with foreigners. I would very much love to come to Germany and Experience the culture there. Plus meeting you and sharing our MOCs would be amazing. I could skip seeing land marks and tourist attractions, I'd rather hang out with a good friend and get the insider's guide to German culture. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Alex-Darkrai In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-07 21:49:11 +0000 UTC]

Nah, I thought so >.>"
Sometimes I don't even like my language for those reasons xD
Yeah, I knew about Rammstein and Tokio Hotel, thought I'm not really proud of Tokio Hotel -.-
Most of the guys in our country don't like them, but the younger girl love them ... I also knew about the house style xD There are even some songs I really like myself ^^
But if you ask me what german rock is, there always comes one band upon my mind: 'Die Γ„rzte'
These guys make good german rock, sadly they never got popular in other countrys ^^" Here's a song:[link]
Beer ... I knew we're famous and we have a whole lot of different ones, but I'm not drinking anything, I don't like it ^^"
I'd sure show you some great things xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Alex-Darkrai [2011-03-08 01:10:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Its all the consonants you guys use in your language. Like this band down here Die Artze'
I wouldn't be proud of tokio hotel either, they suck. I like Rammstein's earlier more industrial stuff. I like industrial, bands like Rammstein, Marylin Manson, Nine Inch Nails, I fuckin love NIN they're a top five for me. I like how its a heavier version of techno and its really dark.
This is more alternative rock, its got a bit of a punk influence to. It was food though and the video made me laugh. The band got eaten by zombies. I'm listening to a few other songs as well. So what American bands do you like?
I know. I could probably destroy my liver trying all the different kinds. I'm not like a normal american guy who drinks cheap beer just to get drunk like the stereotype goes. I like good beer for flavor.
I bet. But I'd be happiest just hanging out with you and sharing. Plus we'd have to collaborate on a bionicle MOC and make it crazy epic.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-06 18:06:43 +0000 UTC]

Eehhhhhh that guy's an arsshole. Good riddance. But no we don't want to lose Alex. Funny thing is I have a concept for a MOC where its a complete crossover. It would be a rock monster but with system core but bionicle structure. While the MOC itself couldn't shapeshift the character can and the bionicle elements would be sort of absorbed by the creature. But I don't have the right amount or kind of black, brown, dark or light grey bricks to make that work. Its not bad to cross over sometimes, just don't stay there.

*darth vader voice* Come to the dark side Aidan...we have free donutes on Wednesdays and fridays is taco night.

Hm... sounds interesting. One of the 8 HF-Titans I've planned was something similar, based around rocks and minerals and whatnot. Yours has had a lot more thought put into it, it seems xD

No, you can't be my father! I-- ... wait, doughnuts? I'm in!

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-07 06:19:17 +0000 UTC]

Neat-o. Yeah mine's been in my head for quite some time. You know those rock pieces, where they're once piece? It was basically a lot of that kind of rock structure, but shaped into a rock monster So there would bee to be a lot of 1X1 bricks and smaller bricks all stacked on each other. The other thing was that the bionicle/technic pieces would be yellow as if he found a construction site and said "ooooooo this big piece of machinery would be nice to have and ripped apart a crane or something. So one of his arms would be the boom from a crane, giving him "stretch" or "reaching" ability.

That seriously had me laughing a lot.

Oh good, our ideas are different - that way no-one would think we've copied off eachother xD My Golem idea is a bit more natural, sort of like a hunk of rock that has just been brought to life (remember that analogy... it will be importnat ). I might even put a few moss-coloured pieces on top

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-08 01:33:16 +0000 UTC]

Ah I see. That'd be cool. Can't wait to see this guy. They are similar ideas, but I don't think I'll be doing mine for a while, if ever.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Rahiden In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-08 18:05:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm not likely to do mine for a while. Considering how long it takes me to make larger MOCs, and taking in the fact that he's not even top of the list (of the remaining 7, he's number 5), it'll probably be in late 2012

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-09 06:00:49 +0000 UTC]

Damn! That's quite a while. Well I've found that I can make better MOCs quicker now. It took me about a week to do atlas and that was a little while ago, I could probably cook up something alright in a week. But Its when I come back to my MOCs after a while and go "you know, this could be better" is when they get as good as the older stuff. Then I look back on them and thing "wow they were pretty different then."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Rahiden In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-09 18:04:13 +0000 UTC]

Evidently your building speed is much higher than mine I doubt I could make anything bigger than a miniMOC in that short of a timespace... so much stress from school and every MOCers' enemy... procrastination

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-09 20:28:00 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't always like that. I'll probably do revamps on Shuilong down the road and she'll be even more awesome. WIth the way I do my MOCs its hard to give an accurate description of how long it takes. I don't build it and its done. I build it sits there for months maybe a year then I work on it again. How do you clock that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Rahiden In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-09 21:36:01 +0000 UTC]

...hm, I guess a year beats mine xD

Here's a timeline of a typical MOC:
1. Concept (indeterminate time)
2. Development by thinking (varies between spur-of-the-moment and months of bus trips)
3. Experimentation with the scrap box (few days, usually)
4. Actual building (anywhere between an hour and a few months xD)
5. Finishing touches (a few days)
6. deviantArt time!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-09 23:11:01 +0000 UTC]

FUCK!!!! You head case this stuff waay too much Aidan. Seriously, just sit down with the concept in your head and start tinkering with pieces. 90% of the time I don't prething things out. I just tinker and I get these magical moments where something I tinkered with just fits up with something else, or I make it fit. I think out how to fit the parts together as I go. I do a little bit of away planning, like if I'm having a difficult section and I need to put it down, but never the whole MOC. I guess Genius takes time. I thought you were like alex who could come up with this insane shit in no time like he does. I guess you're more like me in MOCing after all. ya I'm alone!.

*Typical American school system Dies after one punch* You don't go to a typical british school system though. You're privately taught and I'm sure there's a difference. If going from privet to public is like it is here you'd probably wet yourself with how different and "lower quality" it is. You're not all stuck up and pretentious are you?

Rahiden In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-03-13 09:48:33 +0000 UTC]

Fine - 'typical British school' in the sense of the ones from the movies, where all the teachers are strict and whatnot xD But not as extreme... I don't know.

I try to speak on here as I do in real life, so... you be the judge

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Rahiden [2011-03-13 21:19:34 +0000 UTC]

XD I dunno either.

Hmmmmm I think...maybe just a little bit. You do come from a family of means. But you seem to appreciate the fact that not everyone else has what you've got. I think the only thing that makes me think you're kinda stuck up is when you say you can't be bothered with something. It comes off as "My time is too important for this." But you don't have a whole lot of time apparently so that's a good reason.
