Description If you think Nona got away for standing up to that clone...than you are wrong my friend!
Sometime after the incident with Lani 's scar, the clone (who is building an army of force sensitives or something crazy like that) sends Nona to work in the mines (they are on an old asteroid that used to be a mining facility), knowing very well that she will most likely die in them. (She isn't the only one working in them, as the clone wants a certain metal that can be found in the mines and used for weapons).
So as you can guess, the whole thing didn't go over well with Lani and lets just say that kicking at a powerful force sensitive can lead to broken bones...especially the leg you attempted to kick him with. (If I were Lani I'd hate me too...now that I think about it).
Anyways, Lani still manages to visit (aka sneak out of the med bay) her (condemned) friend and talk to her about her worries, problems and anything else she can think of.
A topic that often comes up in their conversations is what they would do if they could escape. Nona tells Lani that she had heard of a beautiful planet, where everything is green and peaceful, she believes that the planet is called Naboo and wants to go there. Lani assures Nona that one day they will go to that planet and Lani will personally see to it.
Nona forsees her own death and, not having the heart to burden Lani with this vision, changes the subject and tells Lani of the man who saved her from slave traders, and how he is a prisoner like them, to the clone. She makes Lani promise that she will help her repay her 'debt' to this man. Lani not understanding that within their conversation, Nona is telling Lani her last will and testament, happily agrees.

Nona is killed in an explosion days later. After telling Lani that even if she dies, Nona's not afraid because she knows she's not alone anymore.
