I was inspired to create this painting after watching the popular Korean drama "My Love from the Star." Soo-hyun plays an, academic and serious, alien who falls in love and experiences teenage-like emotions for the first time. This painting tries to capture his relaxed and stress-free demeanor, showing a man who is at peace with the world.
The use of colours is particularly striking in this piece. The city lights of Seoul add a magical and dreamy quality to the painting, while the muted tones of Soo Hyun's clothes and the wall he sits on complement the vibrant background. The painting is a reminder of the beauty of Seoul as night falls and the charm of Soo Hyun's youthful and laid-back personality.
