I have always asserted and will continue to assert that education is crucial for a photographer. However, there are some caveats.
During workshops, you gain condensed experience from the photographer you turn to. I have attended workshops that I will remember for a lifetime and that have served as milestones for me.
And I have attended terrible workshops that showed me what not to do.
But do not confuse workshops with master classes - they are entirely different things.

If you are just starting your career, then you should attend all the workshops you can get into. But if you have experience - there is another approach, which I will tell you about later.
