Ishtar a.k.a Inanna was a Mesopotamian Goddess worshiped as far back as 4000 BCE. Patron deity of love, sex, war, fertility, justice, political power among others. Along with being hailed as The Queen of Heaven, cultures across the ancient Middle East held her in high regard, with many kings like Sargon of Akkad or his grandson Naram Sin touting her as their protector.
