When I found the translation of the Chinese name for this song (To catch the moon in the sea) which is an idiom of “doing something nearly impossible” I knew the character *has* to be related to water and luck. Moreover, the original video featuring the song had Amae Komoro (whose name translates as “winning by the last tile”) image for the background.
Then, analysing the attacks on the actual level, I noticed that its main feature are circles bursting and throwing smaller circles. Thus, combining water, circles spreading stuff, luck and moon, I’ve came up to this: a jellyfish-like spirit living underwater in Lunar Lake (located in Mount Cloud), the same lake where The Lunar Whale lives. They’re extremely slow but their tentacles are lightning fast. Last Tile has a childish personality however when it comes to hunting they take it very seriously, no one can escape them, this spirit is so lucky that sometimes they kill the prey from the first shot. They don’t get along so well with The Lunar Whale because they steal offerings from each other and Last Tile and their jellyfish like to sting killer whales including The Lunar Whale.
Some design choices: two ribbons shaped like spears on their head is a reference to Amae Koromo‘s design and the spears from the level. Two circles on her chest make the pattern of a pink crescent and full white moon which release rays similar to the lasers from the level. The bracelets that shoot and spread tentacles like a jellyfish. Eight tentacles growing from the hood have a cube-shaped pink bulge which is a reference to pistons from the level. Their iris are two coloured and divided in two (This is not a reference, I just thought it looked cool )
