I'm going to feel bad for Greg. So far the show has been honest with dealing the character's emotions. There's no way he's going to simply shrug this off.
I don't think he knows the truth either. He always kept out of 'Gem Business.'

He actually handled it pretty well. Though I actually expected him to since he could relate to Rose since they both left behind family to embrace their true selves. I bet he loves her even more knowing this.

Greg changed his name to become a rock star. Didn't get along with his brother for a long time.
Pink changed her name(and whole identity), faked her death which started a war, emotionally broke Blue Diamond, left Pearl wonky in the head(it would explain her OCD attitude) because she had to keep the truth from everyone, and Sapphire and Ruby feeling their relationship was built on a lie.

They both still essentially ran from home due to differences they had with their families. I know it led to different results. I'm just making a comparison.

Yeah. Then there is Blue Diamond who isn't exactly the model of 'Mental Health' at moment. What is really sad is that Blue and Greg did make a sort of connection through what they believed were their individual loss. Granted Blue kind of went 'overboard' by trying to 'save Greg' from 'the destruction of the Earth', however it will be interesting to see how it plays out if it gets explored.
Crazy idea, well a crazy idea revised. Remember 'Mystery Pink' the Pink Haired Tanned Biker Woman that Pearl met a while back? My first thought was that she was somehow Pink Diamond. Now I'm revising that to 'Mystery Pink may somehow be Pink Rose.'

I don't think Blue went overboard. I think she genuinely believed she was saving a life she felt didn't deserve to be extinguished and just didn't know the world wasn't in any actual danger from the cluster tearing the Earth in half anymore.

We might as well call her that. They fell in love with each other and have been together for years leading up to Steven's birth. They were pretty much one step away from having their own ceremony.
