And now for the already-canon pairing: Cheese Sandwich and Pinkie Pie! :3Believe it or not, I was actually planning on giving Pinkie an OC boyfriend/husband, but after the finale aired, I couldn't say no to the idea of them being an item. While I wasn't expecting it, they really are perfect for each other if you think about it. It's because of her that Cheese found his true calling and she helped him out again in "The Last Laugh" so it must make sense that Cheese eventually became enamored with her and they fell in love. Well in "Flurry Heart's Story", that is of course still gonna be canon, though at the start of the story, they are still not married and Cheese hasn't proposed yet. Don't worry, I am working on a fanfic where that happens!

It doesn't surprise me that this is the only ship the writers decided to make canon. "Pinkie Pride" was certainly one of the best episodes of its season (and in the top tier of the whole series), and "The Last Laugh" only affirms what the reveal of "Pinkie Pride" implied - Pinkie didn't need to go looking for a "great purpose in life" because she ALREADY HAD IT in her parties.
Cheese Sandwich is certainly the most notable of the ponies Pinkie's changed for the better with her efforts, but logic suggests he's not the only example out there in Equestria of this. And now the two party ponies are married and with a foal of their own to continue this "legacy" for the next generations to come. It's a hoof-in-horseshoe fit with the spirit of Friendship is Magic as a whole; the popularity of the characters (and relative lack of "shipping" competition) is just the icing on the cake.

Truthfully, I think your older design is better than the official canon one. Granted Pinkie, given the wrinkles, was clearly meant to be older there than she is here.

I will of course still stay true to some things in The Last Problem, but quite a few are going to change like my designs for future Spike and Rarity and having some of the other characters be in relationships with stallions. I'm still thinking of some guys for Twilight, Fluttershy and Rarity.
