THEY'RE DONE!!! And they turned out a lot better than I thought too!
I'll make custom pics of them later, but for now, enjoy!

It's actually not smooth at all on these customs. I do much better with paint jobs nowadays and the key is to use a bit of water with the paint or it will come off rather goopy and have a texture when it's done.

What clay did you use?
If it was Sculpey, how did you get it to stick on the ponies? Did you bake the ponies wit the clay on them? If so, how long and what temperature?

Well I didn't take it off after baking them but nowadays I take it off and then paint the pony if need be and then I glue it on.

They are good, but to me there are a few things that don't grab me as much as the other Lyra/BonBon customs.

You haven't seen them from every angle. I'm glad EqD featured it but they shoulda waited till I got the more detailed pics up.

Well it's not that, like I aid they're realy good but to me that wasn't what I was saying.
It was mainly these:
-BonBon's tail and mane aren't poofy/big enough.(Just me sayin')
-the side of Bonbon's mane looks too long (again that's just me)
-BonBon too yellow, she's needs to be more cream colored.
-And Lyra I thin think should've been more rounder (piknie Pie) shape.(AGAIN! just me)

More rounder? How is Pinkie more rounder? She's got the same body type as everyone else and all the toys have that same body type too.
Again, you might wanna save your judging for when I have a pic of them shown from ALL angles.

I coulda made Lyra's eyes rounder I guess but the unicorn heads are all molded to accept the shame of Rarity's eyes.

Really good! Also a question- when the hair finishes baking, is it like rock or like plastic? Is it brittle or does it hold strong?

As soon as it comes out it is still sorta soft and flexible so don't handle it. After cooling, it is pretty solid but fragile and can break and snap easily so be careful when handling it. Using Mod Podge on it makes it a tad bit more flexible and durable, but you still gotta be careful, especially with thin parts.

Urgh. Okay, then that type of clay won't do. I need something of higher grade. I guess a cast-and-mold of polyutherane or something like that is my best bet. This is going to take weeks.

Yeah, it's matte Mod Podge but it works like glossy for some reason.
I just use a paint brush.

Actually, her coat color is beige. I've taken an eyedropper tool to her color and compared it with the colors given by wikipedia, and beige is the closest match.

I used the color she is by mixing up yellow with white.

I see, it just looked a little off because it wasn't as light as I thought it would be. I saw a lot of bon-bon customs that color yellow so I guess it really is hard to make her exact color from yellow.
